    Default Jack Welsby

Young Player of the Year nominee alongside Leeds’ Harry Newman and Wigan’s Harry Smith. Fair play to the lad, had his fair share of criticism but has played pretty much every position in the backline this year and still managed 8 tries (joint 3rd for Saints) and 5 assists. Also still currently in the process of fishing Folau out of his pocket!
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

All very good young players. Of those three I'd probably go with Harry Newman who was outstanding until he got injured.

He’s like a Purple Genie. Mention 3 young lads and he appears (must resist mentioning him rubbing his lamp......)

I’m just surprised he could get a WiFi signal from behind a bush in Orrell

Harry Newman would have been my choice, didn't really expect Welsby to be on that list of contenders.

What's Orrell got to do with it? I don't live there.

Imagine how the lad is feeling right now?! Saints born and raised, playing for the club he loves and grabs the match winner with the last play. Absolutely made up for him.

Another great showing from 'Mr Ordinary' and another mediocre moment from him.

A couple of weeks ago I was all for Simm playing ahead of him but he was exceptional last week and this week too. Not just the try either - there was a key play where he put an amazing shot on French as well.

Last 2 games of the season, when it mattered he stood up to the task. Brilliamt for such a young lad.

My mistake lilac Brian, I thought Orrell was were teenage boys in shorts trained, I bow to your superior knowledge, still impressed with your ability to type one handed.

I don’t know where the lads will be celebrating with all the pubs shut but I imagine it will be a glorious mess!

I've been critical of the lad but •••• me, he didn't put a foot wrong and his try was some something we'll talk about for years.

Indeed he will, right up to pre season, when once again he will be conducting the solo symphony over the pie fiddler's latest project.
