Isn't Paul Cullen the head of the disciplinary committee?
He probably doesn't see an offence!

The tackle itself should have been 2 games minimum. I’m not sure how it could have been worse - swinging arm, clenched fist, forceful direct contact with the head

Although you are right, we know that won't happen. One of them will probably be given the GF.

I think Phil Veivers is one of the committee.

Think Tomkins’ ban shouldn’t be linked to a number of games and he should be looking at a ban based upon months. Let’s be honest, we’ve seen a few incidents this year, probably more than most years that could be deemed sexual assault and I don’t think we’ve really come down hard enough on anyone as a sport and I include Makinson in that bracket too.

I would dip as well, AFTER I had been hit by Tomkins fist.

I think that would need to be on an x-rated site rather than Sky Sports

With Covid still around it would be wise to stay with the "games ban" if he gets a 4 month ban for instance he might only miss a couple of games. Makinson and Lineham had to endure their long game bans I think Tomkins should be treated the same way for consistency.

However if we have a player guilty of severe GBH play and the injured player is out for the season then the offender should be banned for the season in that circumstance.

Did the high tackle get upgraded from 1 to 2 games?

He challenged the B grading. But the panel upheld it and give him a £500 fine to boot.

It seems so as the original recommendation was 1 game ban. It may be that an extra game was a consequence of objecting to the grading. The RFL post doesn't make it clear. Just Joel Tompkins to come

What I don’t get is that the pulling an injured player upwards, even downgraded, merits a 4 match ban and yet Kendall, who witnessed it, didn’t deem it worthy of a penalty or a card. Will anyone bother to ask him what he was thinking?

I've said it before, we are going backwards in this area. They have a tough job but some of the stuff going on is embarrassing to the game and a danger to the players at times.

Players can challenge a Penalty Notice (A-C) – in which case the matter will be determined by the Operational Rules Tribunal. A refundable deposit of £500 for Super League players and £250 for all other players must be lodged when submitting a challenge. If challenge is successful, the deposit shall be returned. Challenges to a Penalty Notice can only be made on the following grounds:
    - Guilt
    - Improper Grading of the Offence by the Panel

Unsuccessful challenges will result in a one-match increase in sanction where grounds for challenge considered unreasonable. If player is found not guilty then no sanction will be handed out. A successful grading challenge will lead to a sanction that would have been imposed for the revised Grade.

Basically they challenged the high tackle charge and it was considered unreasonable, so an extra game automatically gets added on.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Of course not. Though behind closed doors he may get shown the video and asked to explain.
