Hmmm didn't see that coming. You'd think that would confirm Peyroux is going as they are in a similar mould in terms of the positions they'd cover. He is predominantly a 2nd rower or a centre.
NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS
Thompson, Bentley and Mata’utia is going to be an interesting three way tussle for the two second row spots next year, I’ll be sad to see Peyroux go (amazingly) but I’m not sure where he’d get a game...
One things for certain, the squad were building at the moment has competition for spots all over the park
Say it quietly but we are looking pretty strong for next year. Three good overseas signings and a host of good kids pushing for first team places
Nobody could accuse this of being the signing of someone coming to retire on the face of it. Don't know if him but suffice to say he has representative honours in Australia which is enough for me. Significantly better use of the cap cash.

If we could manage to sign a project prop ala Walmsley too that would be a serious pack on top of what we already have.
Maybe he's thinking this lad will be a bit of cover for Percival's gammy hammy.
This could be a great signing for us, I think he's a very good player.
Has the Paarsi signing been confirmed?

Think Simm (I’ll whisper “and Welsby”) have proven themselves more than adequate cover and looking for more and more game time next year.
We look to have Walmsley, Paasi, Lees, Amor, LMS and Batchelor at prop next year (as LMS and Batchelor aren’t going to be in the second row contention as it’s looking fierce) whilst we all like a project I’m not sure where they’d get game time - has it been confirmed Reserves are back next year?
He was born in Liverpool so he has got be a cracker .....Check him out on you-tube seems like a really nice lad . Welcome Sione . These are the signings that excites the fans ... bring him on .

Woolf must know him well if he’s played at the Knights.
Not a bad signing. He’s a pretty tough player.

Interesting. I'd guess Peyroux's wage + Paulo's wage = Mata'utia's wage.
I am genuinely excited about this signing. He's a cracking player.
Paasi looks a pragmatic buy. Certainly signing in a position and a style of prop Saints need.
Thompson on paper looks strange but there is clearly a vision of what
he can do and how he will be used. Probably go really well but not someone
who you stop what you are doing , when you hear his name linked.
However matautia genuinely excites me. Has all the makings of a Freddie Tuilagi with plenty of skill also.
We were sniffing around Latu at Warrington. Presume with Amor re-signing a one year deal coupled with the Paasi & hopefully Matautia signings that’s our recruitment finalised bar the pending contract renewal / upgrades being announced shortly.

Are the Newcastle Knights Mata’utias related to Vila?
Dodged a bullet with Latu.
I'm happy with the big recruitment.
A proper out and out pacey winger to join the academy would be good.
Rough and 2 ish years away from the first team would be fine.
The next Grace. Hull have just signed someone like this , there must be others.

Started out as a three quarter. Bulkier these days but still has a bit of pace i imagine. Granted i don’t think he ever lived up to the expectations surrounding him as a youngster but he will still be a good signing for us.

Only 24 and played all those NRL seasons, looks like a good signing.
