    Default Luke Thompson

Just read on the Wigan fans site that Thompson has signed for them. Apparently a done deal.

To add context to this, the full post from this particular user was:

"Heard it from match commissioner at the wire v Hull FC game where I wus working we got talking about players and he said wigan av signed luke Thompson and then jenna brooks said same things 20 mins after when she wus talking to my boss

And that it will be acounsed at the end of the season."

    Hardly sounds credible to me.

Warrington signed Graham don’t you know. FWIW I have heard Wigan and Leeds are just trying to run up the offer Saints have given - it’s a matter of Aus or Saints rather than anywhere else. I think people forget this is someone who gave his grandmother address so he didn’t play for the Wigan town teams ...

That reads a lot like the James Graham rumours which Wire fans came out with for years.

Whether it's true or not, it's the very thing we've probably all dreaded since he (allegedly) acrimoniously departed. You can imagine it happening can't you?

There’s absolutely no way on earth Wigan could get French, Hastings, Field, Hardaker, Burgess, Gildart, Farrell AND Thompson under the cap.

Will they free up some coin when O’loughlin retires or is he playing on into his 50’s?

You would have to hope they are both talking rubbish.

If he comes back anywhere it will be to Warrington. They tried to sign him before he went to Australia. They’ll throw money at him.

Can’t see him coming back to us with the way he left.

As I’ve posted before, I can’t see Thompson giving up on the NRL so easily no matter how homesick he may or may not be. It’s just a shame he went to Canterbury, they look shite though a new coach may turn things around.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

What he wants and what he gets are two different things though. Barrett may not rate him. I can see other NRL clubs willing to give him a chance but they may not offer him what Canterbury did.

I’m sure Gold Coast would jump at the chance!

especially if the Dogs pay a proportion of his wages to get him off their cap.

Wish him well as long as he doesn't go to the Pies.

Why don’t you just put him on ignore? You don’t see his posts then and saves you reacting to every post he makes.

He is well connected at Wigan by the way

Because he likes to make out he doesn't care about him or anything he posts, yet reacts to pretty much every single post RG makes.

I would prefer to listen to Roy Litherland who told us exactly what the oracle is. He may have a couple of supporters on here but some of us feel he is a vindictive, bitter old man who hates our club. Why should we ignore the plank when we can give it him back.

Its more the 'in the know,' one upsmanship that gets my goa. Even when they were getting a good hiding under Anderson we heard how little Billy-Joe from Platt Waz was going to be the next Wally Lewis and it was just a matter of time until Wigan fans could play 'simply the best' and wear their Ellgren trackies with pride again. Guess what: we've still won more than them in SL, we're ahead of them in derby victories and pretty much more. We've won more LLS's and the club doesn't need to bang on about going to Carpetworld to refurbish the foyer when its balance sheet ain't healthy. Empty vessels make the loudest noise.

What's it got to do with either of you? Put me on ignore if you're that bothered.

We live in a democracy with a right to free expression, RG posts regularly on here which he is perfectly entitled to do . And Angry Dave is perfectly entitled to reply and as he rightly points out why don't you put him on ignore if it bothers you. RG posts on here to cause a stir , I'm sure he expects to be pulled. Same goes for some of those Wire posters , they know full well what they're up to. Generally it adds to the interest
