Without doubt.. I presume they'll be sold in France only regardless of who the teams are if it were to he held there..

The point is that people from Tier 3 areas would legally be allowed to travel to France

If anyone wants an official French travel document I may know somewhere that can provide them for a small fee.

If marketed correctly there could be improved media interest and there is no point wasting money hiring a large stadium when it's going to be empty. The grassroots of the game needs to money, not a Premier League Club.

Playing the final in France is a non-starter given the advice not to travel in many parts of the north and on returning from France everyone would need to isolate for two weeks.
People would be hammered for travelling to France and for the lack of social responsibility around it.

It's not as if Huddersfield hasn't been used for big matches before either including Challenge Cup Semifinals, Test matches, World Cup and Tri-Nations Games.
Good idea it also allows more time for planning instead of waiting which grounds would be dropped from being considered due to their team reaching the final. They may need time for the football team to re-arrange if there's a home game scheduled.

Huddersfield Town play at home that day so you can rule that one out also.

This is becoming slightly farcical, and surely the powers that be had worked out that the new GF date would potentially run into this kind of trouble. We’ve always had the GF during an international break to guarantee that OT was free on the given weekend, but once you tell everyone you’re having it during the football season you are going to face all kinds of issues.

Simple response to this is have the GF on a Wednesday or a Thursday night. If there are no crowds it doesn’t matter when we play it, and if we think we’ll get any publicity going against a PL weekend then we are wrong. Have it as the only major event on a Thursday night and then be able to play it wherever we want.

To the players maybe pal but only they can answer that question. Even without a crowd i reckon the Leeds and Salford players enjoyed being at Wembley.

They could play it at Huddersfield on the Sunday?

I'm sure that fixture could be rescheduled or play the GF on a different date there.
e.g Huddersfield Town are due to play Middlesborough again in February away at Middlesborough. Thye could easily swap the fixtures around and play them away first and the home fixture in February leaving the stadium available for the Grand Final. Just a bit of negotiation needed.

Why should we want to play the final in Yarkshire in the first place?

It probably could be, but it's whether Sky, the sponsors, the RFL and the EFL will allow it. It's alot of negotiation to host it at Huddersfield when they could probably find an easier solution.

I was thinking to myself driving down the east lancs earlier, Leigh wouldn't be a bad call and give them some much needed funds.

Good shout. It’s a decent ground they’ve got. But isn’t it owned by the council disguised as LSV LTD? Not sure how much funds would go to the club.

Leeds or Huddersfield are being touted.

Whilst I can understand why they've chosen the venue (cost) this is hugely disappointing and underwhelming for the players. It won't really feel like an occasion sadly and a Friday night also is disappointing.

I'm sure if we get there we'll be excited come the game but this year just feels like a huge anti climax.

It really doesn't matter where it's played as long as the pitch is decent.
