Default 21 Man Squad vs Wigan

We have announced our 21 man squad for Wigan. Percival and Ashworth out replaced by Costello and Batchelor.

    Full squad:
Lachlan Coote, 3. Kevin Naiqama, 5. Regan Grace, 6. Jonny Lomax, 7. Theo Fages, 8. Alex Walmsley, 9. James Roby, 11. Zeb Taia, 12, Dom Peyroux, 13. LMS, 14. Morgan Knowles, 15. Matty Lees, 16. Kyle Amor, 19. Aaron Smith, 20. James Bentley, 21, Matty Costello, 22. Jack Welsby, 23, Joe Batchelor, 26, Josh Simm, 27, Lewis Dodd, 32. James Graham.

    https://www.saintsrlfc.com/2020/09/2...for-the-derby/

    I think we will go:
    Coote
    Welsby
    Naiqama
    Simm
    Grace
    Lomax
    Fages
    Walmsley
    Roby
    Graham
    Taia
    Bentley
    Knowles

    LMS
    Lees
    Amor
    Smith

No need for rotation for me with us having a week off last week and another one at the weekend. We can rotate and bring in the likes of Dodd when the midweek games start coming quickly.

Wigan have rotated heavily so we shouldn't be caused any problems on Tuesday - https://wiganwarriors.com/blog/2020/...ace-st-helens/

Pathetic squad from that lot. At a time were the game is in crisis, gripping games are hard to come by they put that kind of side out in a huge derby. Crap.

    Completely disagree.
The cup semi has to take precedence, a chance to make history that can't be repeated for at least another hundred years.

    Warrington have done something similar.

Can’t blame any of the semi finalists. Impossible situation really. If we assume there’s going to be no home advantage in the play offs then finishing anywhere in the top 4 will do

    Intriguing.

Just that you aren't winning the cup as long as Wire are in it. Brush your mob aside with ease in the final

Smith or Lees was the only difficult decision. I like Smith and I get why we’ve got two 9’s in the 17 but there have been games where he’s only come on for a short stint during the second half.

It would be 20 Challenge Cup wins in 2020.
I'm sure the marketing people could do something with that.

You'd think Catalan would have a big advantage, provided the travel rules remain the same. They have something like six games scheduled to be played on Perpignan.

    Chris Caisley will be outraged.

We were expecting George Foreman and George Formby being sent

I thought it was going to be something real, not something made up on the back of a beer mat.

Exactly. He’s literally made something up. To claim it would be “making history“ is absolutely farcical.

Fair play, it's the first time he's ever been funny on here, even if it's not intentional.

I don’t blame them one bit. If they went full strength against us and lost French or Hastings for example for the semi they’d be fuming and rightly so. Next Tuesday won’t make or break their season.

I seem to remember us getting the book thrown at us when Basil rested six players against Bradford.

I'd rather not play anyone full strength at the moment. A decent win against them lot might be just what the doctor ordered at the moment.

Hastings is in the squad isn’t he?

It's history because it's asterisk season. Only need 3 games to win the cup?

Yeah, don’t know if he’ll play or not. Was just using him as an example of the type of player they probably couldn’t afford to lose for the semi.

It`s a pity if you do lift the cup for the 20th time in 2020, it will be during Covid19, still if you ask the WHO nicely,,, who knows.
