Some performance that
Some performance that
Was impressed with Simm and with Welbsy considering he was dropped in it (I know he’s not the flavour of the month but I am thinking If we can get an extra yard or two of pace he’ll make a really good full back - he looked really dangerous running at the line). Shame we couldn’t see Dodds on debut, but a really good team effort all in all
As has been mentioned, this style of rugby is suiting Saints down to the ground. Youngster's doing great again, now above the Goons at the top.
What's not to like about that enjoy your weekend.

Bentley needs to be dropped with him taking out another player with his friendly fire, Roby last week Smith this week'.
That it has, we have always been the best team around when we get quick ball, if this had been around in the mid 2000s we would have won everything for a considerable period of time. As for the current period, we look a far better side now that we did before lockdown, whether that be because of us getting player back from injury or the rule change is for people to decide for themselves, i think its a bit of both but majorly from the rule change.
Notice there wasn’t much mention of us missing Makinson, Percival, Fages, Taia and Roby, then losing Smith and Naiqama. Don’t care how many Huddersfield had out, that was a dominant performance and could have been 80+ if we’d been more clinical. Didn’t look like conceding either, aside from a loose play from LMS. Missed the post match interviews, any mention of why Naiqama went off?
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
Looks like a young Bobby Ball.
I hope we offer Amor some kind of new contract, he really deserves it on his performances.
I know Huddersfield were poor (I think they were missing a few players, perhaps the Sky team could have mentioned it) but that was a really strong and enjoyable performance from us.
Of the youngsters, I thought Welsby had his best game for us, a contender for MoM. More performances like that and he'll well and truly prove me wrong - I'll be absolutely delighted if so. Costello another very decent performance and took his try really well. Simm showed glimpses of quality and never looked out of place. Smith was superb.
Of the others, Grace is phenomenal when in space; he'd have scored dozens in the 90s with the less structured defences back then. Bentley is the SL-player-of-the-restart without doubt. We need to tie him to a long contract because he's finally come of age. Walmsley is just brilliant and I think we've got him for the rest of his career now. Impressed again with Amor. Coote is world class.
Really pleased also to see Woolf mixing the tactics, too. As Terry (?) pointed out, we were offloading way more than usual. We also played that short ball to a player on the ball carrier's shoulder (to get more effectiveness, we need to work on having players either side to make it even harder to defend against)
I want us now to kick on and give us a clean sweep of trophies.
Thumbs up for ref Moore as well - one of the best refereeing performance I've seen this season.
Quick word on all the players in SL, who are doing a fantastic job in really trying circumstances. That we have a competition with all that's happened and happening is a credit to an awful lot of people.
Pre lockdown (especially the Cas game) we looked as though we weren't playing for the coach. I think Jammer has been a massive influence since coming back and could be the missing link between coach & players. Carney mentioned how Graham was coaching Grace from the side line after his first stint. The guy never shuts up for the full 80 minutes, must be great to play alongside.
