Rodri Jones has been around the RFL for years. He is still doing basically the same job with very little pressure. In 2009 the RFL sold themselves pretty short with one of its major sponsors. Some good people but the leadership was all over the place.
Tells you everything about what’s wrong with our sport. Essentially its jobs for the boys and it seems easy to do a moderate job at even the lesser clubs in Yorkshire and coast into a top job in the RFL/SLE.
There appears to be little accountability in these roles: the auditing process of the Celtic Crusaders was horribly bungled and yet Blake Solly was able to get a promotion a few years later. Why would anyone trust the current lot to expand our sport? History effectively repeated with Toronto and noone is held culpable.
