Sounds very plausible, once you accept hospitality from one club the finger will be pointed every time he refs them. I think resignation is his only option then he can take a well paid backroom job at HJ stadium. The Rugby Football League handled that like they handle everything amateurishly which is proven by letting him ref the Final.
On the Back foot looking for the front one.

Dont mind Kendall, prefer him over Wobbly Rob and Thaler both of whom have an annoying way of speaking to the players.

To me he seems to lose concentration. Gives set restarts and then suddenly forgets all about them. Picks up on a few dodgy offside decisions, then misses the blatant example. Picks up on ball steals fairly well, then they suddenly become loss of control. You can't really expect consistency between refs, as they seem to have their own idea on what needs to be done. But you can expect a referee to be consistent throughout the course of a game. As above, still prefer him to Hicks and Thaler though.

Which says it all really. And the others are even worse.

I'll probably get slaughtered for saying this, but I thought Childs was good as VR yesterday. He gave a very clear indication of what he was looking at, what and what he was seeing, also didn't need 10 replays to make a decision. Generally the VR's seem faster now, which has helped speed the game up. Do they have a say in incidents like the missed/given conversion yesterday??

    Kendall
    Childs
    Thaler
    Hicks

In that order for the top refs.

I prefer the VR on the BBC because he explains what he's looking for, makes them less likely to dither but if something isn't clear at least he can explain
