    Coote
    Makinson
    Naiqama
    Percival
    Grace
    Lomax
    Fages
    Walmsley
    Roby
    Graham
    Peyroux
    Taia
    Knowles

    Lees
    Amor
    LMS
    Bentley
This is a bit of a headache for KW. That bench spot is a bit of a problem. I like Smith, but his problem is he is ‘just’ a hooker. But on the other hand not picking him we then rely on others to fill in. Personally I don’t want Bentley playing hooker. (Unless in extreme circumstances) He is far more productive how he played last week. Knowles is the same. But I accept that going without Smith gives us versatility, but we lose a little impact when either Knowles or Bentley shift from their natural positions.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.

Im rarely a fan of Amor but he put a good stint in last week. Roby is looking quite fresh and i think we can beat Leeds without 2 specialist hookers. I would rest Roby for 15 minutes in each half with Bentley moving to 9 and ease Peyroux back in giving him just 30 minutes game time, just to get some miles back into his legs after the lay off.

    Already nervous for this game!

Leeds last week pulled the rabbit out the hat getting that win.

It will be a very close game as this Leeds team finally look to be gelling together.

Complete our sets and we should be ok.

massive loss to Leeds with Konrad being injured!

    Who is the ref?

    Kendall is the ref.

Bombing Myler will be a key tactic as will running at Dwyer/Leeming as much as possible.

The performance of the refs with the "start again" ruling could be more influential, having Kendall in theory doesn't sound too bad at least he is fit enough to keep up with the pace of the game. The likes of Gareth Hewer should be interesting because he couldn't keep up with the pace of play under the old rules.

I think playing Smith is absolutely necessary. Roby looks fit now but if we flog him into the ground making him play full 80's, he's going to burn out before the season's done. Besides, unless we suddenly start paying transfer fees, Smith is going to be our hooker going forwards (unless Eaves has a dramatic surge in form).

And the current rules suit Smith down to the ground: more open play, dominating the tackle being less important. He's got quick enough feet, definitely quick enough hands and, more importantly, a quick rugby brain.

IMO, we only need 2 props on the bench, and we're going to need to rotate our 5 options (especially with Graham, LMS & Amor being very much in the twilight of their careers), so I don't mind which 4 options he goes with. Batchelor or Peyroux for the other bench spot - Bentley played superbly last week and, like Smith, the current rules suit him.

I agree with you there. Although I do think going forward Eaves will be a good player, there's just no need to rush him back right now.

I thought that Hicks allowed a much slower PTB yesterday than Thaler last week. But, still better than before the new rule.

I think Amor and Batchelor will miss out.

Leeds haven't got a huge pack so we don't need 3 props on the bench. Mobility in the pack and an extra hooker gives us a chance to play with speed down the middle which I think will work well for us.

Agree with this. Speed will be key, Hurrell missing for Leeds is a big help for us in this one.

A second hooker is a must now with the increased speed of the game. Good distribution and the awareness of knowing when to run and when to pass is even more important than normal.

Have they announced the team yet? I've just noticed the Jack Welsby is 12/1 for fisrt/last try scorer? Do the bookies know something?

Fantastic, no point attacking left then with Costello. I was hoping we'd seen the last of him.

Who else would you play there & please don't say Welsby. Look how Cas played on him.

I'd have liked to have seen Simms but then again I don't work with him on a daily basis so you have to trust Woolfe. It's not even that Costello is an awful player, he just doesn't do much of anything.

The rules have bee changed for this season so we'll still have the full use of interchanges.

Bentleys footwork is a nightmare for defenders. He’s earned us a few penalties from the high shots. Quality player!
