    Default Liam Sutcliffe

Liam Sutcliffe has put a transfer request into the Rhinos, would he be worth looking at? A young talent with great skill, could he add anything to saints?

No better than Ashworth who we are on about letting go? And i'd say Matty Lee's is better. Would rather keep Amor for another 2 yrs. Let Sutcliffe go to Salford where his level is at.

Think you might have got someone mixed up here.
Sutcliffe is not a prop. He usually plays centre/stand off.

Think hes played wing and centre in his time aswell. Jack of all, master of non.

Hasnt been able to nail down a place in a Leeds team building for the future.

Maybe if given a bit of direction for one position, he might be worth a punt.

I'm not sure I'd be rushing to take any Leeds cast offs, he's ok but no better than any of our 3/4's.

Started off as a utility back played most positions except scrum half, would sooner we start looking at giving game time to Simm and Dodd when our injuries bite.

If signings are not better than what you have there is no point for me. We have signed too many duffers in the past who are no better than the academy kids.

This sums it up, in the way past we would a have been in for him and he would probably go well, but why not bring on our academy players instead.

Another Jack Owens. Technically good but lacking most other necessary attributes.

Thought he was garbage as a half when he broke into their squad and think he’s not much better on the edge. A no from me.

I actually think that he would make a good ball playing #13.

You really don't know that much do you? Rushton is a very good running 2nd row, not a ball playing #13.

And you should pay more attention. I posted re Rushton on 23rd June.

    Nicky Kiss posted
"Losing Rushton would be a huge shame. He looks a terrific prospect. At only 18/19 he’s already a big lad but is athletic and a real dynamic runner of a ball. The prospects of starting to lose kids like Rushton and Havard worries me far more than losing established players. The club gets nothing out of these types of losses."

    I replied
"I agree. It's never bothered me losing players who have played five or more years in the 1st team if we get a decent fee for them, but we should be keeping the likes of Havard, Rushton and McDonnell."

    I also mentioned.
"It's happened before with Saints and Leeds. Saints lost Levy Nzoungou and Andre Savelio, Leeds with Mason Tonks and Jordan Baldwinson.
None of them really made it over there which should be a warning to most young players."

Other posters picked up on this and mentioned Matty Russell, Keith Mason and Ian Sibbitt.

He is a talented player but for one reason or another he has never stepped up at Leeds, a skillful ballplayer but seems to have been shipped out to centre where his is out of position. He really need to be in the spine of a team (1,6,13) but he seems to have lost the trust of Leeds to do this.

This isn't all his fault because there wasn't really a senior player around him. He was also christened as the successor to Kevin Sinfield which given the god like status the Leeds fans have given Sinfield, almost guaranteed Sutcliffe would fail.

The next step in his career is to go to a club like Wakefield or Salford and be allowed to take control of the team from 6 or 13. Then, if he succeeds he can then go back to a big club to take on this role. Similar to what Jordan Adbul has done at London.
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

I don't think he's as bad as people are making tbh, I think he'd be a good utility player if the wage was reasonable but I'm sure we won't sign him, he'll go to a Yorkshire club and get a regular start.

He reminds me a bit like Gaskell has some good games then a longer period of being average.
