Jonathan Griffiths he had a really good stint with us reckon Llanelli we very happy to have after we improved his fitness.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Jammer signing, a great bit of business.
Im not sure what we paid for Sean Hoppe but considering we got him at the back end of his career i thought he did good. He was a good tryscorer and turned up in the big games.
As far as getting a good return on an investment goes, Maurie Fasavalu has to be up there surely. A youngster from union, before his body started to fall apart he was a wrecking ball over that 5 year period.

Good shout that fishy, on Maurie!
I'd go with:
Maurie
Baloo
Gleeson.
Nice pal!! Its easy to forget the talent we had. I always wonder if Baloo could have gone round for another year. He was actually fitter in 2006 than he was in 2005!
As for Gleeson, i always remember a lot of folk at the time of his signing saying ‘this nobody from Huddersfield isn’t good enough for us’. I went to a pre season friiendly in 2002. He put Darren Albert away for a try with a flick pass and i thought ‘wow! This lad can play!’
I always liked Gleeson.

I always found Des Clark a weird signing. Hanley signed him at the back end of 1999. He looked like he could play in those few games then was never seen again lol

One for the older amongst us but Jeff Heaton coming back from Huyton was immense really. Following Murphy and Tommy Bishop and giving us 300+ games for a £500.00 fee. The club really made a steal that day.
Yeah Dux he had no problem settling into the phsyical side of League, his tackling technique was always very good, he just got more practice and became phenomenal. It was his fitness that alarmed the trainers, he was miles off for nearly all the first season, just shows how good he was as he was not targeted by the opposition.
Personally I had never heard of Farleigh or Sheils but they were very good, shrewd signings, especially as their debut coincided with us being WCC champions
I remember stood on a half-empty Central Park kop end one freezing Boxing Day to watch a depleted Saints team get stuffed by a depleted wi*an team. The one player who I remembered most was this cocky pie kid who had the acceleration and balance of Jason Robinson and tore us to bits. I remember thinking 'Oh, FFS, they've got another Jason Robinson here' and then afterwards "Sean Long... must remember that name...".
Forgot about him until reading he'd picked up bad injury. Then was involved in a swap deal with Widnes for Lee Hanson (ha! ha! ha!). When we signed him, I was actually quite excited and thought he could be very good. I knew he was signed initially as mainly cover for Goulding (hadn't he picked up another ban?) but was dying to see what he could do when he made his first appearance against Cronulla - and even though we were tonked, he showed flashes of just how good he could be.
One of the few I've got right!
But another one I was super-excited by was Scotty Gibbs. A bit disappointed in his early form, but that soon changed.
I should do a 'Signings you were terribly disappointed by' thread sometime
Thought Shannon McDonnell & Gareth O'Brien did a decent job for us while they were at the club
Good call. I guess we can add Bobbie Goulding. Got sacked from Leeds for (allegedly) trashing the chairman's car. Almost beat Richie Eyres to be the first player sent off in Cup final at Widnes. After Saints he was a donkey at Salford and Wakefield. He took a break from self destruction for a few years to win us the league and the Cup twice.
He could have easily been a Lance Hohaia or a Tricky Trindell
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.
Great call on hoppe 2 more jarrod mcracken and darren albert
