I dont suppose Saints could go ALL OUT to get him in the Redvee?

Not sure a UK club is realistic money wise, but its a nice thought

I'd love to see him in a Saints shirt. Could we get him under our current salary cap?

His salary right now works out at £320970 so he is marquee value. Who are our marquee players ?

I think it's Roby and Coote but don't quote me on that.

IF he wants to come back to the UK and not just a massive NRL contract then £300k a year for 4 doesn't seem out of the question.

It's doable for sure, depends on when he wants to return and how much he wants. There are rumours going around he was asking for $800k a year, but that is probably just agent talk.

Roby obviously getting to that age when he has to start thinking about the inevitable.
How do we look with youngsters to step up as a hooker.
The most blessed team in the superleague era for this position for sure with 2x of the best.
Well 3x of the best. I thought Higham was brilliant for us too.

I rememeber a game when all 3x were on the field. What a luxury that was

Wouldn't surprise me about his shoulder...
Shot as in, he's most likely gonna be in and out of surgery for the rest of his career??

Not sure. What is, is that the narrative changed as to the situation after firing up at that journalist. Said he never asked for a move, then another tweet came out, which he denied was real (according to the conversation on Fox League) having a go at a Canberra club official & said he only asked once for a move.

If he was missing his family, wouldn't he just see his contract out and shake hands at the end of it?

I've been thinking/worrying about this for a couple of years. Since Cunningham emerged we've been utterly spoiled hookerwise and there's noone on the horizon in any SL team that looks like they could turn out like KC, Higham or Roby

Bateman is a very good player but £300k a season and marquee status? I’m not sure. To me that’s what you pay for a match winner

And with the current financial situation, how many clubs could realistically afford that sort of money?

Just in from Canberra. He will see this year out and return to Wigan at season’s end. Both Bulldogs and Dragons withdrew interest. He will be on far less, but at least be with his daughter. This could change. Raiders expect him to play this season!!! So many different stories doing the rounds, but this sounds right.

Never any talk of him returning to NRL. Good luck to him, but he burned a few bridges here on social media.

That's really good news in one sense. I was worrying about Catalans. They've always had suspect finances and there have been rumblings of insecurity even before Covid. Seems they're not worrying if they're extending Folau's deal.

Smith has stepped up a notch this season, to the point where he has been a better option than Roby. Just needs to keep it up now.

Talking of Hookers I wonder were Josh Eaves is upto with his recovery from a broken leg I think it was? He can't be a million miles off now and could also have a part to play in managing the end of Roby's career with us.

Did he actually break his leg? Could have sworn it was untrue, but then I could well have just been dreaming that bit.

    Big signing for Wigan.
Top quality player, massive money and some concerns over his shoulder injury but I think he’ll be fine.

Good for super league to get a big name back. Doubt he’ll be considered as one of the top British imports in the NRL now due to leaving before his contract ends but he’s got bigger things to think about such as his daughter.
