    Its right though.

We have only played Salford and Huddersfield at home in SL and Roosters which was all pay anyway. I think its safe to say the Huddersfield performance wasn't value under normal circumstances never mind the equivalent of £165 pp!!

Still think we need at least one more alongside Paasi next year, assuming Graham retires, and we lose Amor and LMS. I’m still happy for Lees to take one of the 4 prop roles but we only have Paasi (maybe) and Walmsley alongside him

I think Amor and LMS will both sign new deals.

Peyroux OOC too. As it stands (making a couple of assumptions):

    OUT: Taia, Graham
    IN: Thompson, Paasi

    OOC: Peyroux, Amor, LMS, Ashworth

There’s also Paulo who is under contract for 2021 but very much on the fringes. It wouldn’t surprise me to see more players leave than come in as I think we are heavily stacked in the forwards as it stands. Ashworth and Paulo could both leave without it having much impact but if any of Amor, LMS or Peyroux leave I think they’d need replacing.

I think you are right. Got mixed feelings on this. Not got strong feelings on either particularly.

However there is some housekeeping to be done as Saints seem to have a lot of odds and ends in the pack.

Paulo - Gone into witness protection.
    Peyroux - going ?
Batchelor - Is he ever going to get a chance , if not why keep him.
Ashworth - Drifted into obscurity , going ?

Doesn't seem be any young forwards coming through or are there? Don't know.
Need a proper winger in or around the first team. A junior who can cover wing not a Swift salaried player.

If there is some movement tidying up Paulo,Peyroux,Batchelor and Ashworth then 12 months for Amor and LMS would be pragmatic.
If not then just compounds the problem.

We had Jake Wingfield in the squad last week and Woolf was talking about him getting a debut in the coming weeks. Not sure who’s “next in line” after that.

Walmsley, Paasi, Amor, LMS and Lee with Roby that is still one of the best front rows in super league.

Thompson, Bentley, Knowles we are weak in the backrowers if Peyroux leaves. LMS would have to double up as a backrower or start to give Batchelor a run of games instead a one off appearance.

I agree we’d need a back up if Peyroux left, unless they’re confident Wingfield can step up or we keep Paulo purely as back up. I’ve not seen anything to be excited about with Batchelor yet. There’s Callum Hazzard waiting in the wings too.

Yes. He was in the last squad.

Could be the next Morgan Knowles or the next Lewis Charnock.
Very difficult with no reserve , academy or championship for anyone.
Therefore no development for any young players across the game.

Point remains need to make some decisions the six players named above.

Does Stuart Pyke fart at the begining of this interview?

Good 15 min interview with the "Goat" comes across as a real tough bugger who doesn't like losing, left side edge player as well so that combo with Percy and Grace could be a nightmare for the opposition next season.

Serious question but who specifically makes the call on a player coming or going? Is it an equal 'vote' committee or is it solely Eamon or KW?

It’ll be a combination of Woolf, Rush and McManus I imagine. Can’t see anyone else having much involvement at all.

There should be only 3 ways a transfer works:
    1) Woolf says he wants a specific player
    2) Woolf says he needs to fill a position, Rush puts a list together of who is available and Woolf chooses from that
    3) Through Rush’s contacts or an agent a player becomes available, Rush asks Woolf if it’s someone he can fit into the squad and proceeds from there

I would always want the head coach (Woolf) making the decisions on the transfers. The CEO (Rush) making the transfers happen. The chairman/owner (McManus) signing off on the expenditure.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Looking forward to seeing him in the redvee, his defence looks superb, his impact both on and off the field has been commended in the NRL.

Would have liked to have signed Mike McMeekan as quite young - gone to Catalan next season as stays on most of game and big enough to play prop or loose forward

Don't see him as a prop. He was good for a couple of years then faded away. He might do well with a change of club. I wouldn't have been upset if we did sign him there is a player in there.

He had a period when he was blowing hot and cold and grumpy Powell dropped him for a short period. If he had signed for Saints, Warrington maybe he could have been consistent a bit more instead of going missing in parts of the game.
