Makes you wonder if McMeeken may be coming in the opposite direction.

That was also my first thought. I wouldn't be too disappointed if that was the case

He’s looked pretty average for the last year or so but was a real handful before that. It would be one of those signings that could easily go either way.

I agree but Cas haven’t been brilliant either in that time. So maybe a correlation between the two.

A change of club might get him going again.

He’s only 26 so should be coming into his peak.

Exactly, we know what he's capable of. It's time he moved to a big club.

I have to say, I'm getting a bit worried about the prop situation though.

Me too. Apart from the Tamou rumour, things seem a bit quiet. And Thompson definitely needs replacing from outside the club.

If we don’t look at the NRL, do we throw money at Watts?

Or could Currie be coming to Saints & McMeekan going to Warrington?

That was rumoured on the Warrington forum for a while. But the latest is that they're keeping Currie and McMeekan is also going there. BMM must be on an absolute packet to fit Greg Inglis and a replacement in on his wages.

Bentley signed a contract extension to keep him here until the end of 2021. I think he's a great player but still kinda in limbo when it comes to his place/role in the team. I think this suits everybody really for now

Echo what I said in another thread This lad has something special just needs more game time. We need to keep him from NRL. Sign him longer Eammon

Albeit he spilled his first carry I thought Joe Batchelor had a good game. Put some really good tackles in.

I agree, and we never looked under gunned either although Catalan were knackered after 20 minutes. There’s a few fringe players that need game time.

Bentley’s performance yesterday and the one before lockdown before he got injured were well worthy of a first team spot. It’s a close call for me now between him and Peyroux. The one thing you’d say is Dom’s extra yard of pace in comparison could be really handy under the new rule

These new rules should really suit Bentley (equally Peyroux too) and I think we saw why yesterday. It’s only a good thing that Bentley has started well as we need both him and Peyroux to rotate over the coming months.

Sad To hear about Ashworth as I quite like him But that now means Batchelor has to step up he has got the size and pace.

I hope Batchelor does step up and grasp that chance to stay in the 19, could be useful cover for the centres if needed as well as the back row.

I’d expect Batchelor to miss out once Peyroux is available. Maybe having Bentley to start with his more solid defence and take the sting out of the opposition pack and then the more explosive running of Peyroux off the bench as teams start to tire. Either way it’s a good dilemma to have.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

Agree with most of what you say tho' I reckon he is a good lad to be on the bench . Similar to Smith in some ways .

He had a decent game on Sunday. If he plays like that all the time he'll hold his position in the side.
