I'm not saying he isn't a really good player and yes he could improve our team. But what i am asking is where do you get the best value for your marquee player ? Most if not all of them will be in the 1,6,7,9 bracket with a couple in the prop bracket. Is it worth spending big on a 2nd row ? or would it be better getting 2,3 or maybe 4 other players for that money ?

In all honesty, I don't know. We've been there signing average joe's. For me, if top class talent becomes available, as a top club you need to be in for that player. There's exceptions of course and it does sound a lot of money but the fact is, we need to be looking to replace Taia and Bateman would fit that bill very nicely.

He's a freak of a player. and seems to have kept himself out of trouble since leaving Wigan.

Don't get me wrong i would like us to sign him if we could manage it. But it comes down to who are our marquee players and how long are they contracted.
