Prime Minister Winston Churchill had just resigned to give way to Anthony Eden, food rationing recently finished, Warrington lad George Formby was topping the bill, Brian Bevan still had a whisp of hair. If by sheer chance they win it this year we can always say, "Ah but that wasn't a proper season"
They can party like it’s 1955.
But not even a year in from threatening refs, bricking coaches & trying (unsuccessfully) to win a crowd fight in Perpignan.
65 years. Lol
Massive club Warrington
Surprised it'snot been marketed by them as a record?
Learned comment from The Don
Whoooo another topic about a team none of you see as rivals!
It will be all the sweeter when it comes....
If Superleague comes to an end and we go part time, then Wire will buy the Superleague Trophy and use it as a hollow success. Another situation if the club don't win it this decade then probably 95% of their fans will have no idea what's it like to win this Champions Trophy.
In my mind it's not just "another" topic - given the disgraceful exhibition of your ace winger showing total disrespect to the current Champions on live TV earlier this season, I think that it's entirely reasonable for a Saints fan on a Saints fans website to mark the 65th anniversary of the last time that your team were Champions - if, by some chance Saints have to wait until the year 2085 to be Champions again (think about it!) I'm sure that some future Wire fan will be on the 2085 RedVee equivalent to comment on it (although I hope that the Saints players of that era will show more respect than yours do). Why are you on here anyway?
2085!
Just imagine, of you can, what Redvee would be like by then. A direct link beamed into our cerebral cortex's maybe?...Although the boffins can probably do something like that now!
What will RL be like then? 65 years is a hell of a long time!!!
Wearing my other hat, the Evertonian one, I started to feel sorry for our Warringtonian friends. But as frustrating as Everton maybe in my lifetime they have won four titles. Wire in context are a bit like Sunderland I suppose. It took Leeds until 1961 to win one though.
What, why is a Warrington fan commenting on a topic about his team? Or, would you prefer it if only Saints fans posted on the site? If the latter seems a very insular point of view.
Of course all Warrington fans want to get that particular monkey off our back, but it could be argued we are a very loyal bunch given the relative lack of success.
I find you pretty decent McWolf. Your posts are good humoured. I get your point about loyalty and your Wilderspool fans although fractious to say the least, yes loyal definitely especially when Widnes were cleaning up trophies galore.
I will be honest in what is a pretty small sport and the coin thrown at it since the new ground move it is beyond belief you have not won it.
Erm. No. Remember Clinton Morrison getting his comeuppance at Anfield after his classless behaviour at Crystal Palace. Same thing here. Warrington aren’t rivals at all. We just revel in your ongoing League misery given the lack of any class in that wannabe Manchester hole whether it be the tacky twitter account, player conduct, or even the garbage in the Warrington Guardian. Really need a version of the Stretford Clock to rub it in more...

It's fair to say that I wouldn't have responded to Wolfie's post had we just been indulging in some fan/fan banter - I'm ok with that and, of course, we will all have our own distinct view about our own (and other teams) - but the reason I made the original post was really driven by the classless behaviour of Lineham and the ongoing annoyance of the Warrington club's antics. Enough is enough - I'll raise a glass to the next 65 years tonight!
Everyone has their own reasons for disliking other clubs and to be honest if you had said Charnley and his ridiculous leg wrestling I could understand it. But Lineham is a bit of a joker and I struggle to see why anyone takes him seriously. As for our antics, it’s publicity for the game which occasionally bites us on the bum but in reality is harmless. Your post reminds me of my grandad, a life long Socialist, I once asked him why he had the Daily Express delivered every day. His reply (in rather more blunt terms) was that reading it made him so angry it kept him alive...well it worked for the best part of 85 years.
