I see JH's first game in charge ends with 24-6 defeat at Canberra. Hard season for him in store.

To be fair, Canberra are a well oiled machine and last years runners up. I’m not sure many people expected Gold Coast to beat them today.

Got a job on his hands but, if anyone can do it, Holebrook can.

Justin Holbrook is the guest on NRL 360 on Fox League overnight tonight (evening time in Australia). Don't know if it's possible to find a recording of this somewhere like it is with the NRL games. Hopefully.

I've merged these together so that everyone can add to NRL chat in the same place.

Good try that from Brisbane. I can't see Mr Happy being overly pleased with Souths defence.

God to see Herbie Farnworth doing well. I wonder if Brian Foley fancies bringing him back to Wigan?

I think Manly will have a real go this season. Their backline is the best in the league

Long season ahead for Justin and the Titans based on their first two showings.

Could this be the Parramatta Eels season? I really hope so.

Possibly so as they have started well and it's good to see both them and Newcastle doing well but it's very early. I agree it would be good to mix up the top of the NRL table at the end of the season away from the usual mix of Roosters, Storm etc.

I see the NRL have said they will continue playing until their Government tells them otherwise. Can't see them lasting too much longer

Tomorrow by all accounts. Australian government will force them to shut down.

I was reading an interesting article by Phil Gould today. Seems like the Australian clubs are in a similar situation to our own when it comes to finance. He fears a number of clubs will fold over there if the season is over.
