just a couple of thoughts, it's unlikely that a Woolf has had much involvement in this decision, he's hardly had chance to see Wheeler play.

Also as someone as mentioned we may be close to salary cap and Wheeler is a way of bringing in an experienced player on budget money but with Wheelers injury record if, heaven forbid, he gets long term injury whilst on our books he will be using up space on the cap without playing.

Unless he is on a pay per game play basis

    Quite.

From my memory of it, straight red & 5-6 matches would have been justified. Because the ref bottled it, they had to let him off

Thing is, how fit is he now? Wouldn't be great if he needs practically a pre season in march

Wheeler has shown Saints and its support little respect upon and since leaving. I cringe when one or two compare him to Lomax. Desire is the difference.

Didn’t Wheeler once kick a touchline conversion to win us a game at Widnes in his final season at Saints ?.

    No.

I remember someone doing that against Cas though when it was really sunny. But I don't think it was him, as I wouldn't have celebrated, I'd have booed.

    You're right.

Easter Monday game against Castleford. Meli scored in the corner to level the scores & Foster kicked the conversion from the touchline

Don't think Lomax has ever sold beef burgers outside B + Q in a van.
