Going off Woolf’s comments yesterday I’d guess at:

    Coote
    Makinson
    Naiqama
    Welsby
    Grace
    Lomax
    Fages
    Thompson
    Roby
    Walmsley
    Peyroux
    Taia
    Knowles

    LMS
    Paulo
    Lees
    Amor

Ashworth, Dodd, Simm and Costello to miss out.

Would like to see Simm get a game. Did well at Leigh on loan. The safe bet though would be to play Costello at centre

Coote might be next week rather than this.
I thought Ashworth was above Amor in the pecking order following the reserves game.
Costello or Simm for centre. Costello done nothing wrong but be good to see Simm

I'd also like to see Simm get a shot. Costello seems to be going down the pecking order - seems fairly obvious he will end up lower down the league.

Presuming Coote is fit I think Welsby would benefit for a few weeks back in the reserves. He's done well and is clearly a great prospect, but I really think a staggered approach to him playing for the first team would be a big benefit to him. Lomax, Makinson and Percival all had similar routes and think all benefited from it massively

I agree with you although I don't think Simm will play. Costello hasn't done a great deal wrong to be fair although doesn't offer much either.

Was just a guess at Amor over Ashworth. They both played in the reserves game didn’t they? I’d like to see Simm too but I’m more going off what I think he’ll do as opposed to what I’d rather.

I'd like to see Simm being given a run out centre. He's excelled.

Whenever I've seen him play he's been very good and impressed me even more than Welsby. He looks a natural centre, I look forward to seeing how he progresses. Centre is a position I feel we are short of in quantity and quality in RL in England in general.

With Smith out for one match this leaves nobody to spell Roby. Do you think Roby is fit enough for the full 80 or is there scope for Dodd on the bench to go to 6 while Fages moves to 9?

Knowles can slot into hooker role, he's done it before. I'd be reluctant to split the Fages, Lomax partnership.

Rogues gallery. Agreed. Simm is a natural centre. Why try and fit a square peg in a round hole. Welsby certainly has talent but a Centre? Not in my (humble) opinion. It will be interesting to see what the future holds, especially for these two talented lads.

As I said last week, I watched him in the Reserve game against Wigan and considering it was his first game back from injury (I believe?) then he did really well. Ran strong and looked the part.

I would hope that's how its going to be, maybe Coote and Roby won't do the full 80 mins it all depends how tough the game develops.

Reacher. Yes he played well. I believe he picked up 'a knock' in pre season so the Wigan game was a good test for him and he didn't disappoint, along with the rest of the squad. Simm, however has been knocking on the first team door and surely he deserves a chance to show he can stand up with the 'big guns'. Again, I'm sure he won't disappoint. It's great to see so much raw, young talent coming through and that can only bode well for the future of the club. Let's nurture these lads give them the opportunities to prove themselves and they will fight to wear the V.

Woolf discusses it here (saves me a job of quoting him haha)

    Paulo provides versatility? Really?

You could say "limited versatility" but he deserves to stay in the 17 at the moment.

From the horse’s mouth as it were. Thanks. But we still don’t really know whether Coote will play or not.

P.S. Sounds like positive news on Bentley, which is good.

He can play a few positions equally badly.

Centres are something we have been short of for a while.

Would like to see Simm get a run in a less pressured environment like this - early season, at home, not on tv etc but I think he’ll go with Costello
