Wonder if Roby off the bench is an option? As per Sculthorope years ago.
If we can play and contain them for the opening 20-25 mins, the lift that bringing on Roby could generatre for the players and crowd could be the difference.

The article on the Star website says Woolf is speaking to the press later today. Presumably it’ll be addressed then.
I can’t see him being included in the squad unless he is a viable option. I just don’t think we are the type to try and play games and bluff like that.
NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS
Woolf has said he’s likely to start.

NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS
I heard a few days ago that Saints we’re exploring the possibility of Percival getting through the game using injections, with surgery next week- seems like we have gone down this route. Shame about Grace!
I can’t see Percival playing, hasn’t he got 3 injury issues. Injections or not and an operation on the way surely it is better to look after the welfare of the player.
I think we have enough to match them in the pack however think we’ll struggle with the backs in terms of getting out of our half and keeping them in theirs.
Roosters have Tedesco, Tupou, Crichton, Manu, Morris that’s a very big, powerful and pacey back line. They’ll have no problem making meters, we may struggle with only really Makinson who is known for strong returns. Unfortunately I’m not hopeful.
Where is Simm up to from his preseason injury? Wouldn’t he be the ideal choice to go into the squad to cover centre or wing? His grandad played against the Roosters (East’s) in the first WCC in was it 1976? Now that would be a story....and a St Helens lad
Hot of the Press.
Kristian Woolf says Mark Percival has a chance of playing in the World Club Challenge despite needing shoulder surgery next week. Came through training today, and insists St Helens wouldn't play him if they thought they were putting his health at risk.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.

I think that's we'll go with if Percival gets through training. Bentley will provide cover on the bench for Roby and Percival if he can't play the full game and Paolo has been in good form so I don't think Woolf will drop him, especially as Amor hasn't featured yet this season. Amor and Smith to miss out along with Nisbet and Dodd.

This is how i would go. I wouldn’t risk Percival or start with Roby.
screaming in the family corner, scaring the kiddies
Simm is now fit and ready to go. He'd be a great addition to the squad and yes a fitting game as tribute to his Grandad Geoff Pimblett.
Playing Percival is crackers.
The 5yr contract will mean little if he further damages the shoulder.
Not worth the risk for any player.
Just go with what we got. If that is Bentley then so be it.
Ashworth had a poor game at Warrington. I do think he's worth persevering with though - he's a decent ball carrier, but we need to work on his fitness and mobility. He does look cumbersome at times as things stand.
Percy said at tonight’s forum that he could not further damage the shoulder by playing on Saturday and that over the next 48 hours it would be determined whether he had enough strength in it to play as normal and, therefore, whether he would turn out.
I'm no medical expert, but I'm struggling to see how this is even remotely possible. The suggestion that it couldn't get any worse from playing would hint that whatever the injury was couldn't get any worse? So how can he possibly play at anything like normal strength? I just don't understand it?

The only one I can think of is the MANUBRIUM is where the front collar bones and the front top ribs runs attach, its one of the strongest bones in the body. I remember when he went off he was pressing on that area a couple of inches below his throat, maybe its just very painful when compressed, if they protect that area then they must be able judge his pain threshold on todays contact session.
Percival will of had a big say in this and Saints wouldn't risk it if there was a huge problem with it.
