Just don't see how we can get him though. Got 3 years left on his contract & he has no intention of leaving Cas

Is there any lads kicking about in the lower leagues that may be worth a punt?

I don't watch enough NRL to know tbh. From those we've been linked with Molo looks the best player. I've watched him since we were linked and he'd destroy teams over here, very destructive and plays good minutes. There's not many options over here sadly. I think we need a fairly established player to replace Thompson and a project type player if Ashworth leaves (Mulhern?).

Canterbury already 6 nil down in 5 mins.

They look like a team void of ideas, confidence and defensive ability

I genuinely think Luke is going to end up carrying this whole team.

A strong running forward like Thompson needs decent half backs or hooker to create the half gaps for him. He's going to find it a hard slog there.

Perhaps he'll become disillusioned and want to return here after scratching the itch.

It certainly is going to be a tough gig for him but that's part of testing yourself against bigger and better forwards

Has anything been cleared up with the out of contract players? Peyroux, Amor, Ashworth all still out of contract are they not?

So far we've got Thompson in for Taia and Luke Thompson confirmed leaving. I've not missed anything have I?

The players were to be in formed by 26th June if they were being retained.

    https://www.wigantoday.net/sport/rug...layers-2552331

The article is from 28th April, I don't know if things have changed again since.

Under normal circumstances, those approaching the end of their deals are told by May 1 whether their club wants to retain them or not. They also have the option of stating they are undecided.

But that date has been pushed back to June 26 for full-time players – and September for part-time players in the lower-leagues – because of the coronavirus crisis.

The season has been on hold for more than a month and with so much uncertainty over clubs’ finances – and many staff on furlough – the RFL thought it fair to give clubs more time to decide their intentions. Players in the final year of their contracts are still free to begin talking to rival clubs from next week.

Thompson could have took the pay cut & requested an early release but he is under no obligation to do so. He's gone down the opposite route & got what he wanted.

With Graham coming back, seems like the best outcome Saints could have in the circumstances.
We did get a fee for him and Saints "snatched" thier hands off, and by God we played a belter ,
roy litherland it's happened i told you it would

Interesting to see that Bulldogs have named Luke in the starting 13 but at Lock not Prop

May be a reaction to losing Adam Elliott. Whilst Thommo won't offer certain attributes Elliott has, they are pretty similar in terms of work-rate, and go forward, and their props actually went ok last week.

    Solid start from Thompson.
Started and played until the 52nd minute. Edit: Returned for the last 9 mins.
Lead the tackle chart at half time.
    Some solid runs.
    No line breaks.
On report for a shoulder charge the only real negative.

Very similar to Jammers debut in the NRL.

I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

Heard they're interested in Eddie Jones taking over. Make of that what you will
