    Default Luke Thompson

According to Saints will leave at the end of his contract. To be fair he can go with my blessings as he gives his all and will see out his contract.

Sorry to see him go but not a surprise and he deserves a crack in the NRL. Let's make sure we get a big horrible nasty Tongan (or 2) in his place.

Same here. He’s earned this move and will go with the full support of everyone at Saints I’m sure.

I always thought it would be a long shot to keep him after this season, I believe he will go with the respect and good will of the vast majority of fans.

The one good thing to come out of this early announcement is that it removes any doubt, unlike the Holbrook scenario last year, the club can plan and recruit for next season as effectively as possible. What now becomes apparent is there is going to be a massive change over in our pack for next season, with the vast majority of contracts expiring.

Gutted that he’s leaving but step up Matty Lees to lead the line with Walmsley in 2021.

I imagine it will be Amor’s last season too so can see two props coming in next year.

Hopefully this is where Woolfs Tongam connections come into play

Sad times. Another great player lost to the game in the Northern Hemisphere. Gutted.

I echo what everyone else has said...Good Luck Luke.

You would suspect the chances of him failing are low. So you would think he won't ever come back.

By letting us know now he is leaving us plenty of time to find a replacement for next year and the disruption will not be as significant as it was with Barba.
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

Sad we won't receive any compensation for a player we have developed and turned into one of the world's best props , what is the point of an academy if you are going to lose your best players before they reach there peak .

Glad that it’s out early and we can prepare for next season. With Matty Lees, we’ve got a player who looks like he could step up to the plate.

So, looking to the NRL, who is OOC at the end of the season?

Gutted and a real blow to us. Thompson has become the best prop in the competition and up there with the best in the world over the last 2 seasons. An absolute machine that will be very difficult to replace. I'm sure he'll absolutely kill it over there just like Jammer did. I wish him all the best.

Big job for Rush and Woolf to find the right replacement (and I imagine we'll be on the lookout for a replacement for Zeb Taia too). Luckily we have a marquee spot free so that should help us bring in a quality player you'd imagine from the NRL.

Good luck to him. Glad it is sorted early ,time for the club to plan.

Step up the kamikaze brothers - Lees and Ashworth.

With Amor likely to go , happy for a good unknown Tongan and a young British project prop.

No need to panic and just buy a big name, that's how you end up with a Perry or a Burgess G.

Echo everything stated above. Can go with his head held high, let’s hope he gets that WCC and Challenge Cup medal this year to go with his 3 LLS and 2 grand finals and Harry Sunderland trophy he already won.

And another GF win please Thommo......

The only issue I have with this is, we (Saints) get nothing back from developing him in regards to a transfer fee etc.

But, Good luck to the lad he’s been superb for us.

    Good luck Luke.

I was completely wrong (not for the first time) but thought he'd stay.

If he has aspirations to be one of the best props in the world he needs to test himself at the highest level so I completely understand the move

Let's hope Canterbury become competitive again this season because they were terrible last year

No mention of it but I hope it’s contractual that he’s ours at first refusal if he comes home.

    I hope so too.

But not sure how applicable that is as he was a free agent at the end of the season so could do what he wanted with no obligation towards Saints.
