Ha ha ha. I certainly missed out on the coach trips to various places.

Did they used to line up in town and you would get on one to go one place or another?

Wasnt Batley Variety Club another popular place and the Morecambe Bowl?

It's gone downhill Circus they ram as many people as possible into the venue's you can't move sometimes. More about making money than music these days.

The smaller club nights round Liverpool and Manchester are decent. That cream day should be good, I know a lad who djs at those cream events.

The days of rocking up at Birchley Street to see if any spare seats on the coach do's to various NW nightspots!
    Very early-mid 80's for me!

Yes and all are independently owned not a pubco/brewery in sight. They Cowley Vaults was going the same way as all the other crap pubs, but was bought by the guy who owns the Turks. He now has turned it round.

    Cracking!

My mate Rob (the guy in the pics) is a big real ale fan so it was great to visit those pubs, cheers everyone who recommended.

    We had plenty!

Went for a few in the Witherspoons (x2) and the Nelson and a curry after the game and Ady Gardner was at the table behind us...

St Helens is struggling for decent shopping and is a vagrants paradise but we have some very good pubs in and around our town. The ones named above just touch the surface.
