I can't say I am overjoyed with Wanes appointment & will get more frustrated when he brings the likes of Liam Farrell & Sam Tompkins back into the GB team.

Brilliant, not seen one negative comment.
Its was fairly obvious the whole rugby league community wanted Wane or Powell.

Good luck to him. I dont think there is a better person for the job.
Sinfield has also stepped down, maybe a step in the right direction, but I dont know what his role involved so cant really comment on that.

His main benefit will be his enthusiasm in front of the media. Yes, he talks like he's a chromosomally-challenged simpleton from bygone times. But he's passionate about RL in this country, and whereas Bennett made the media feel like they'd just asked him if they could gang-bang his daughter and empty his fridge of beer, Wane is open and friendly to the media. Especially with the World Cup coming up, that is important.

International Rugby is different to club rugby and while he gave youngsters a go, it’s a complete different environment Internationally.

I don’t think he’s thick. I can appreciate that he’s got a tune out of Wigan sides that often weren’t the best team in the competition that year but managed to get them to peak at the right times. However, the way in which he goes about playing the game and his behaviour leaves a lot to be desired.
A genuine question Dos, what are Wane`s behaviour issues?

For the sake of the game going forward I hope it works out for us.

He won't bring Farrell back in. He is not up to it. Nowhere near good enough to be competing with their forwards

    I very much doubt it.

And his time with RU was well spent, you can understand what he says.

Nice to see a proper Wiganer on here instead of fanny old fared and the devil himself.

I am sure he's a nice bloke behind the scenes (never met him) but the way he plays the game 'hard and unfair' with dark arts and cheating thrown in to the mix is not for me. As Brian Clough said when joining leeds 'throw all your medals away you won them by cheating'...not that I am bitter or anything but you need a lot more than that at international level and I hope he has changed.

    3. Wane comes across very well with laudable priorities. If he can take off his Wigan tinted specs I think he’ll be good for England. I really liked the bits that focused on the grass roots game.

I'm pleased with this appointment. I thought the way Bennett handled the GB tour was a disgrace and, in spite of everything, I find myself quite liking Shaun Wane. He's from the other side of the tracks but he's a rugby league bloke through and through.
