Default Well the fog was great!

...But we didn't see too much of the rugby.
I know some of our younger players like Lewis Dodd had a run out, but it was difficult to judge how they went (from where I was standing at least!)
Still a decent enough showing at 4k+ for LMS, and always good to catch up with the guys again.
    Roll on Salford!

Good to see some of the kids get a run out. We scored some really great tries in the first half, lots of slick handling at times and were aggressive in defence. Some errors crept in at times but that is to be expected for the first hit out of the season. Graces' try was exceptional.

This from what I could see in the fog.

Welsby for me was the stand out. Looked good under a few dodgy high balls, marked and tackle well

Bentley was good at hooker surprised Smith didn't start but Bentley was a good option.

It’s difficult to come to any conclusions from friendlies at the best of times, but especially so when you’re struggling to see who’s who.

The only cause for concern, I thought, was our management of the last tackle, which was especially weak in the first half. It was difficult to say whether it was down to slow service from DH or not standing deep enough, but I think we had three out of our first four or five kicks charged down.

Otherwise, though, it looked fairly routine with some good rugby played at times. Regan was moving at some pace for his try.

Alongside the others mentioned, I thought Joe Batchelor did really well. Was putting himself about in defence, took his try well, had lots of energy. Might sound silly, but I thought he played like someone who is really trying to make an impression and get into the 1st team, which is great to see.

Late on, he was really giving it to the linesman for not spotting a 'crusher', looked to be adopting a leadership role generally

I remember being in The Market pub when the cinema across the way had not long been refurbished into a much advertised triple screen state of the art viewing experienced well for the 1980`s it was. One of our group asked what was showing someone replied first screen "Three choices" second "of screen" third "entertainment".

It is OK to be a Dummy on Monday or at least Half of one
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

Just seen the highlights, Coote, Lomax and Fages look really sharp. Some brilliant play for the tries.

Thought the same myself. We look like a well oiled machine and I imagine we will hit the ground running going into the new season whilst other teams are still trying to find their best combinations.

Agree. Think Fages in particular looked good. Percival also looked more like the classy centre he is.

Be interested to see how KW approaches the other problem/development areas - ie Tactical Kicking , place kicking , Paulo , Ashworth kicking on.
Early days but have to say the indications and vibes are very positive.

It will only be a matter of weeks before recruitment decisions for 2020 start needing to be made.
Also interesting on his approach to this.
