    Default New Drinks at Stadium

    https://www.saintsrlfc.com/2020/01/1...-new-beverage/

Hope "Saints Red V Smooth" is better than "Saints Gold".

I'm a real ale drinker and thought Saints Gold was a decent effort out of a keg. I fear like with all "smooth" beers this new brew will be completely devoid of taste and character. Suspect it will be back to the lager for me...

As a lager drinker, I struggled with the Gold. I'll deffo be swerving this new one.

I wish they'd sort the bars out, though. A start would be creating an express bar for cold/alcoholic drinks. The number of instances when time's running out till kick off and I get to near the front only for the couple to order 3 hot chocolates, 2 teas, a black coffee, a white coffee and 4 pies, and we're 10 mins into the game before it's my turn to be served.

You wouldn’t need that much to do it, a fridge, a till and someone to run it, you could have several around to take the pressure off the bars. I think they had a couple of places you could get a hot dog away from the bars last year, it shouldn’t be too much hassle to add a fridge with bottled beer and cold drinks to it.

As above, just the name ‘Smooth’ is enough to put me off. Just makes me think of mass produced, dreadful bitters. Half the problem with anything that isn’t a lager is that the kegs get too cold in the early and late season

    Ale is terrible at Saints.

I thought that Saints Gold stuff was alright, and you can get bottles which are passable.

I enjoyed the Saints Gold. Will be happy to try this new stuff.

Glad to see the Club are able to create these type of Partnerships. Hope it leads on to bigger and better things.

The saddest part about that is the person asking. Someone who clearly wants Carlsberg to be available. Might as well drink your own urine

Isn't it Carling that the bars sell?

I used to drink something called Aas in Norway. It tasted like it too.

    I quite like them both.

Stella & Kronenbourg are awful, though. And all the lagers they serve in the Abbey.

Living somewhere where Lager is the norm, I didn't mind the Gold.

Nah, the prize for that goes to either Baileys or Guinness. Drinks are supposed to refresh, not remind you of drinking cold soup.

That shite they have in the abbey is appalling, I tried it when my missus got it. She liked it which shows what she knows about beer.

Haven't been in the Abbey for a five or 6 years. Compared to Jupiler, not many bars in Belgium serve Stella.

Wrong. The person asked were they going to change from Carling (clearly because Carling tastes like ••••) but the club unfortunately confirmed we are sticking with it.

I will be trying the Red V Smooth on Sunday at the LMS testimonial match.
Then I will say if I like it or not.

They've done it up really nice, the lager is still crap though. Decent pint of Guinness mind.

I went in the Gerrard a few weeks ago, I'll give the Abbey a try next time.
