The trouble with Rogues is that he doesn't like "scooters" type no 9's because he has to live all these long years with the goons teams less expansive in their rugby from the ruck area. Its an attribute he probably doesn't understand that the scoot opens up defences for the next attacking play, rogues probably sees it as cheap metres and lacking in skill but if done right it creates an enormous amount of momentum and that has its rewards for the teams who want to play a fair percentage of open rugby.

Let's have no dubity Newton was a complete and utter disgrace. Higham is a typical Leyther good honest and down to earth not a great but a good un. The narrative around Wigan and a small number of their players such as Skerret, Hock and Newton is clear they suit the darker side of that club created by Lindsay and loved by lunatics like some Wiganers who post on here. The chief cheer leader was noticeable by his excuses to avoid social media when we won the grand final. If we had lost different story.

My opinion of Leythers has plummeted since last month's general election

I'm white and working class. I stopped voting Labour in 1997, and only began again in 2017. How the hell have they alienated people by promising a fairer society?

I've not fallen for the right-wing sh*te that the EU is responsible for our lives being a bit crappy. No, the blame for that lies with the greedy '1%' who are rich off the labours of the many, and who hoard too great a proportion of the collective income earned by the country.

Leigh was a mining town; how quickly they forget what the vindictive, evil b*tch did in 84-85. Just like all those Yaaarksher w**kers who also voted for Bozo and his sneering band of toffs.

    A disgrace.

    Disagree. Agree. Agree.

But, irrationally, I couldn’t stand the sight of him. Can’t explain it. Ironically, due to my dislike, I managed to get my photo taken with him after Manley beat Leeds in the World Club.

Back in the late 80's... Ian Lucas

Fat lump of a bang-average prop, struggled to get regular minutes for the piescum, yet such was the pro-pie fawning within the RFL at the time, he got picked for GB above far more deserving props.

One trick Mick wasn't a bad support act to the two best British hookers to have played RL post war time.

I don't think Saints fans really bought into Goulding the person. He did well for us but was always time limited. Look at the next captains along Joynty and Scully we loved those two and still do.

I think we took Goulding to our hearts. Around 'The Scaff' we loved him.

Couldn't stand the fat little narky get before he joined us, though

Yeah Goulding was well loved from 94-96. Relations went downhill fast from 97 onwards though, IIRC.

He was definitely a niggler but Bobbie also liked a good scrap & always looked for a fight. I will always remember his bell ringer on Cowie in the CC that got him a hefty ban. He jumped up so he could wack Cowie around the neck.

That was one of the best games I've ever been too. The atmosphere was absolutely cut-throat; I remember being as angry and hating the piescum as much as I ever did.

The piescum were snide all game, and that showed just how much of a shithouse Farrell always was.

Ian Herron - probably more for the length of time it took him to kick.

Semi Tadulala - not sure why.

Peter Gill - mainly due to sky praising everything he did, to me he just looked like an old bloke plodding around.

Further to my earlier post, I remember being absolutely delighted that it was Henry Paul who threw the interception pass that killed the game off.

How genuinely pleased was Hunte? He was on the end of some bitter defeats in big games by the scum, so just glad he got a few medals at the end of his time here. A pity (if the rumours/reports were true) that he felt he had to leave due to the actions/comments of a certain halfback.
