See how the first few games pan out first. But all thing being equal ! We are the underdogs, they are certainly beatable with this Saints team . A close , low score game i expect .

I think having 4 SL games before this one is really good for us. Barring injury in those 4 games, I don't think there will be much in it.

I assume the Catalan game still scheduled the day before the WCC will be moved. Still, 3 games should get us up towards 100% match fitness and give the lads a chance to get used to any new ideas Woolf has brought in. Roosters are an exceptional team and we’ll have to be at our very best to compete with them. We had a stuffing last time round in the WCC but we’re an immeasurably better team now in almost every aspect.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

It's OK, we'll just bring Swift in.

I would hope Cats will be moved. I didn't look at the dates and didn't realise it was the night before.

The one position we’re not blessed with cover. Interesting to see what we will do.

Naiqama to the wing possibly and one of the young lads to centre would be my guess.

Ah yeah you're right. Wouldn't be too much of a problem I guess

I would've thought so unless someone has been tearing it up pre season. He did improve to be fair last season.

Not for me. He's not a winger and he's not great under the high ball. If we were to do that I'd say put that Nic Rizzelli there. He looks quick and strong.

I guess a few different combinations will be tried out on Sunday.

I reckon that’s what they’ll do. Welsby could be an option as well at centre, think he played a few games there last year off memory, whenever there’s an opportunity to give him a run out somewhere I think it’s worth doing so.

I think Naiqama would be wasted on the wing. Costello I’m sure could do a decent job on the wing, he’s a biggish lad who could bring the ball away well

This. Hadn’t given Makinson’s replacement a second thought as I presumed it was Costello from the off.

Really hope we have a full side for the Sydney game.

Default Roby ruled out of opener

Not sure how fit Costello is. The pics I’ve seen of him in pre-season, he’s been wearing a sling.

I don’t think we will have a full squad up and running until the WCC at least.
I don’t see Knowles, Tommy, Roby coming in for at least 2/3 games in. Obviously the wing position is a problem as we don’t have an out and out winger spare now. (I don’t think). I understand the new coach likes Bentley so maybe see him covering for Knowles.
I hope they don’t rush anyone back for the WCC game. I will be going cause it’s Saints but not a fan of the game at all. I worry about unnecessary injuries in what is a glorified friendly.

The WCC is pointless in my eyes when it's played 3 or 4 games into our season. It's just a distraction and a potential for players to get injured needlessly, it's also another game they really don't need.

He’s included in the squad to face Oldham on Saturday so I don’t know how much we should read into that.
