Perhaps we need 'rules' with this sort of thing? Each poster can name one only maybe?
I must admit, it brought back some great memories. Showing my age now! George Nicholls was one of my favorites too.

Likewise with the memories, a lot of those pictured were personal friends.

I didn't know any of them personally. I was only a kid then, but I could name all of them.
Just as a side observation, it's interesting to see how many of them are Welsh, and I mean real Welsh, not the grandparent thing!

Remembered them all with the exception of Hull, Eckersley was the last one I got. Pretty good pack that at the time, Tony Karalius hands like shovels most of the time carried the ball in one hand.

David Eckersley was a very good player. He started off with Murph at Leigh then came to us. I dont remember him hanging around long. We got away with selling some very good young lads in that era before it caught up about 1978. Ken Kelly and Eric Prescott to name two we could have built a team around.

Ken Kelly was very talented. Eric Prescott was a hard lad but there were a few off the field issues.

I seem to remember him saying he wasn't a stand off and wanted to play full back, but Geoff Pimblett was the full back at the time. Transferred to Widnes where he played at stand off
