Will the stitching be up to snuff though?

I hope it's not. We've done the red vee to death and it's not the historic landmark people regard it as. We've literally done every possible iteration of it now. We need to reference the red band at some point.

We probably had that kit design for as long as the red vee? My Granddad would always say St Helens is red hoop on a white shirt. He didn't like the vee.

And if we have to have a same-as home shirt, at least make the away one cool.

I do love that kit - trouble is once a few sponsors' logos go on it it'll soon start looking like a Hull KR kit.

I’ll be honest, I immediately thought of Hull KR too when I saw it. I wouldn’t be against us experimenting for a year and going away from the red vee (Bronco won’t be happy) but I wouldn’t want people thinking it’s a Hull KR kit either.

I agree, it looks great on the picture but would be spoiled with a load of tacky sponsors (which I'm well aware are a necessity). I'm not big on kits in general and wouldn't buy one but do occasionally get bits of training kit. If I was choosing I'd like to see go red vee shoulder to midrif, red shorts and socks like the picture above, I'd also like to see the away strip be the same shirt with royal blue detail ala late 80's, go 3/4 sleeves too.

Why not do it as a one off for Magic Weekend, i know we have done the Autism stuff for the last few but maybe do a heritage one for this coming season, see if we can speak to our sponsors and say we will be doing an ‘unsponsored’ shirt at Magic. That way it offers a bit of nostalgia and changes it up a bit.

Think I've mentioned on here before but on August bank holiday weekend next year RL is 125 years old. Should be a heritage round with a separate shirt, ideally with each club in their original colours, proper collars, the works

I get the nostalgia for the red banded shirt but like others have said, stick sponsors all over it and it just looks like a Hull KR shirt. White with a red vee is pretty unique across the sporting world

    St George Illawarra notwithstanding!

I don’t like the red band personally, much prefer the V.

That warm up top for the Grand Final was sublime. Everything will be a disappointment if it’s not that shirt.

And in the round ball sport, Airdrie United/Airdrieonians have a red vee front and back:

Think 2021 should be a nod back to the first V shirt of 1961.

I'd like to see a white shirt with a very thin V. Like the 60's Wembley shirt

I would like to see a very thin gold V alongside a broad red tee every time we manage to become super league champions, the champions shirt could be a decent seller if we went something like that, I think St George Illawarra had something similar and it was a great looking shirt.

Is there any past evidence that any of these suggestions would make any difference to shirt sales? Has there ever been a 'best seller'?
I know people will have their favourites , and shirts that they didn't like, but I get the feeling that most fans just buy the shirt each season anyway.

I remember at one point, every main shirt sponsor we had went bust.

I think you’re more or less right. I’ve not bought one for years as I prefer cotton shirts and would happily pay 20 quid more for one if it was a reasonable design, but they’ve not done one for a good 5 or 6 years
