I hope they find him safe.
Presumably he has dementia?

Hope he is found safe and well . Didn't realise his dementia was so advanced
Still wearing a Saints top :-(
Yes he was a very approachable guy. He thought the world of Frankie Barrow. I last saw him to have a brief chat when we went Down Under 3 years ago. What a horrible condition this is. Quite a few ex Saints been affected recently. I hope he is safe and well.
A very passionate coach and one of our unlucky ones when the pies tried to buy the sport.
Has there been any news? Just had a look and it appears not. Poor sod.
Six nights out in the wilds of NZ - there's an awful lot of woodlands and parks surrounding where he went missing, and even more water. I fear we're just waiting to receive bad news now.

rest in peace, Mike
very sad news
Very sad news, I started watching Saints in the 80s at a time when we were always entertaining but didn't challenge Wigan and Widnes but when Mike took over I'd say after going to Wembley in 91, then following 91/92, 92/93 he delivered success up against the full time juggernaut that was Wigan. I think Mike kick started our run off success and being a winning club again.
My thoughts are with all his family...
Very sad news RIP Mike
I remember how upset he was after the '91 cup final, he knew how much a win would have meant to the town and he was devastated by the loss.
R.I.P Mike, as someone else wrote you laid the foundations for the glory years that followed should always be remembered that way

A passionate enthusiast of the game, remember his after match interviews and weekly column in the local paper, completely opposite to Wayne Bennet and his monosyllabic answers, I sometimes had to look in the dictionary to understand what he had said, but a popular and good hearted fella who loved his rugby and Saints in particular, such a shame that one minor incident at the end of his time here caused so much fuss, and remember the John Harrison try that he invented!

Again it emphasises that there are a lot more important things than R.L.
R.I.P.
Will always be the greatest for me: coached our bunch of part timers to within a millimetre of the fully pro Pie Cheats.
And he wore his Saints jacket to the very end.

Horrifically sad. Dementia really is a terrible disease. Mike was slightly before my time and I have only very vague memories of his time at Saints.
Thoughts with his family and friends. RIP

Same here, for me things started to change with that Lancs cup win against the mighty Rochdale, it wasn't a major success but it felt as though something was happening in what was quite an exciting time for me, I still remember being at that game. Then turning Wigan over on that memorable boxing day 41-6 and I think we may have beaten Widnes too on NYD.
RIP Mike - You will always be one of us.

R.I.P. Mike, really nice fella when he was at Saints, Shane Cooper will be the most upset as Mike was a father figure to him.
For fans who don't remember him he was a very technical coach with trick + innovative plays which at the beginning with the players caused a bit of confusion but Cooper and Martyn seemed to be on his wavelength.
He was responsible for the trick play of the very tall John Harrison heading the ball over the try line for our forwards usually George Mann to pounce for a score, the RFL outlawed it later as it was too unorthodox for them. I had forgotten that he engineered the 41-6 win a(Coors Shirt) against the goons with a very, very deep attacking one of my best games of all time against them because the goons were a star studded team at the time.
