I was always taught to respect my elders,
but it keeps getting harder to find one!
I am a nobody, and nobody is perfect;
therefore I am perfect
Been excellent so far, a real festival of rugby league. I've always said that the Magic Weekend should be a 9s comp with a trophy awarded
Some brilliant stuff so far. I just hope Saints are watching this, some very, very good young players knocking about.
Excellent stuff so far. As someone that hasn’t seen much woman’s RL, I’ve been impressed with the intensity, physicality and skill level of the woman’s matches.
England 13 Lebanon 16 . Now looks as tho' Engand are out . A long way to go & only play 18 mins . I cannot understand why Regan Grace went out . Wales lost both their games .

9s is just an exhibition. You wouldn’t get the same crowds travelling as they do for Magic. I think there’s scope for an international tournament like this in Oz but the problem here is it would have to be in warm weather for people to sit out all day and there isn’t much opportunity in the summer for it
Someone should have mentioned to Bennett 9s is all about pace
In truth, I’m finding it all a bit boring. I’d rather watch a game where teams have to work harder to score, having to build up pressure and out-manoeuvre the opposition rather than just run around them because they’ve got the faster players.
Respect Graham so much, but why did we need Forwards in a Nines side?
Was interesting to hear the commentators say, "Didn't know Blake Austin was English", dripping with sarcasm. Great from an Aussie. Obviously doesn't remember Tonie Carroll, who played for both Australia and New Zealand.
Loyal and true, not a glory hunter.
I was devastated with the professional Australian commentators. I was looking forward to about 19 hours of prime Bill Arthur, Baz and Tez.
Gutted.
Bennett seemed to use it as a chance to give players like Ryan Hall a game rather than pick a team who had a chance of winning the tournament
I think you do need forwards in nines - it's not quite as open as sevens and you need big players who can draw in defenders. I think the problem was that most of the backs we picked were more ideally suited to carting the ball out of their own 20 than taking advantage of open spaces. I suspect, anyway, that it was just a case of picking from players that were already over there with the GB squad rather than flying more suited players over just for the tournament.
Not really too fussed about the internationals this year although I'll watch them if I get chance.
All about the Australia tour next year for me. I hope they sort the fixtures/scheduling out sharpish
