    Default Wigan or Salford?

So who would you like us to play in the GF? Wigan know how to win the very big ones, but surely we’d prefer to play them over Salford after that drubbing tonight?!

Once more we'll only beat ourselves..

Play like we did tonight and it makes no odds who we play

Completely agree, but if that's the case I'd love to annihilate Wigan at Old Trafford.

Salford. Just because I want them to get to the final and it is a good thing for the game to have a different team there.

Salford getting to a GF at Old Trafford would be amazing. The atmosphere would be brilliant

If Wigan get there I hope O’Loughlin plays, he’s way off the pace.

Yes. good for the game. Salford deserve it. Think it would be a really good game. Despite tonight Saints wouldn't be nailed on.
    Very exciting.

I really believed we’d see you off tonight. Having topped the league unchallenged from week one, and struggled in the few ‘must win’ games I thought you were ours for the taking.
Time for a rethink. Wouldn’t surprise me now if it’s a Saints Salford final

    Well played!

I still think Wigan will win, but I think tonight will have taken a lot out of Wigan..

Salford will have lots of confidence after tonight

A honest assessment. You can't afford passengers in the pack against Safofd never mind Walmsley & Thompson. A few need a serious look at themselves before next week.

Also as others alluded to O'Loughlin isn't having anywhere near the effect he once did. Starting him was a huge error by Lam tonight

Fair play dude . Must be hard to take that . Tonight was an exemplar of the gap between 1st and the rest . I can honestly see Salford taking Wigan next week .

The thing about Salford getting to the final would be that it would be further proof that keeping the salary cap low is helping bring the competition closer. It's almost like the NRL used to be now where sides can go from near the bottom to the Grand Final in a season. If anything the NRL is becoming less like that with several established sides now always in the top half, but Super League is improving in that sense. It's bringing the competition closer but also reducing the quality. If they could find more clubs capable of spending an appropriate amount of money and perhaps get some outside investment and improve the standard whilst keeping the level(ler) playing field, we could be onto something.

I agree with the comments that if we play like we did tonight we’ll beat anyone. For the good of the game I’d like it to be Salford.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

My only worry is a new team at Old Trafford isn't great if it's only in front of 60,000

Considering the ‘new team’ is walking distance from Old Trafford, I can’t see a problem with numbers

Can't agree , it might a short walk but their fan base is tiny , if we're looking for a big crowd it has to be your lot

I agree Wigan will bring more than Salford, but not sure of how many of them would turn up after last night. If we do play Wigan at OT last night was a huge psychological boost for our guys

They have a hardcore 4000 fans. Were they getting another 25k from?

I think they'd sell more than Wigan personally. There are a lot of sports fans in Manchester who would get behind this as a night out. They'd take 10,000-12,000 genuine fans, all those who haven't been in a while and basically anyone that's ever watched Salford in the past would go.

Yeah if Salford got there it would be a real event. They’d take loads of casual fans and some non fans just there for the experience

NFL sells out 4 London games every year and loads of the people there aren’t really into American Football - it’s just an event to be seen at

Would prefer to meet Salford in the final, they have played a lot of good rugby this season not all this boring stuff from wire and the goons.
