I'm thinking the same, if it was Warrington playing Salford then I'd be unsure but Cas are as bad as Warrington.

This is the highlight though "I'm not concerned with who we play in the semi final. Our record gives me the belief that we can beat any of the top five"

Our record demonstrates precisely the opposite of this, when was the last time we beat Wigan, Warrington or Leeds in a knockout game?
Exactly this. Staggering how anyone thinks Warrington are not up to much but apparently we are unbeatable. Sure I have heard this already this season.

Actually backed Castleford although can't remember doing it.

Warrington looked similar to us in the cup last night. They came out fast and looked the better side. When the tide turned and cas went in front they dropped off before a bit of a comeback at the end but it was too late.

The only difference is the ref looked pretty balanced lastnight.

Got to give credit to cas for their defence, the attack was pretty poor from both sides.

I admit I didn’t see that coming. I didn’t realise how poor Warrington were. I’d judged them on their Wembley performance.

I was just thinking when I was watching the initial exchanges in this game

Could Wigan throw this game to get themselves a route through where they only play St Helens in the final and not before?

As in lose tonight, send Salford to St Helens, beat Castleford and then just beat Salford when it actually matters for a place in the final - surely that's the best chance of making the final? Avoiding an intense all out battle with Saints and save the energy for the final at a neutral venue

Why would they? If they win tonight and lose to us next week they’ll have another chance at home vs Salford or Cas anyway.

Depends how confident they are of turning us over. If they are not that confident of winning at Saints (but are confident of winning on a neutral ground) and don't want a high intensity game it probably comes down to

Lose tonight - play Cas then Salford for a place in GF
Win tonight - play St Helens then Salford for a place in GF

Here’s a thought Salford win tonight
Saints throw the game next week
    Then beat Wigan/cas at home
    Play Salford at OT

It doesn't apply if there is an injury.
