Stars were Welsby, Dodd, Simm and Rizellli - all backs. Play winners of Wire/Pies in final.

Never seen Rizelli till tonight. Absolutely smashes them in defence and runs strongly

Great result, well done to all. Now to play either the Goons or Wire in the final? The lads will not need much incentive against either of these two teams.

Jack Welsby's length of the pitch try from under our posts was outstanding!
Great win for the young lads.
"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom." Danny Blanchflower.
Might have been written by a footballer about football - but never a truer word............

I was told last night that if Wigan win tomorrow, the final will be played at the D.W. on Friday before the Wigan v Wire or Salford game.

Will the Wigan club be generous enough to offer Saints fans some discounted tickets (e.g. £5) to enable them to watch the curtain raiser?

Or would we have to pay full whack and help contribute towards your annual rent bill?

It'll be like any game that is staged before a first team game at any team, full price I assume.

Personally I think the final should be played on a neutral ground, it's been done before.

What a massive shame it will be that a load of parents, family, friends and fans will in all probability be unable to watch the game due to the ticket price.

A couple of years ago, Saints staged the final as a stand alone event at the TWS, therefore enabling opposition fans to come and watch for £5.

I agree with you Rogues. Hopefully, the Wigan club will see sense and make the right decision.

It's not like their rented ground would be anything like full anyway

Eh? how so? Why the hell should it be at Castle Greyskull though when there's a chance of them getting to the final?

    Eh?

Do you really think that a load of saints fans and players friends are going to spend £25 to watch a curtain raiser at the DW? I think not.

I doubt a load of fans would attend anyway but would imagine players families and friends would either way.
