Default Player signings for next season

My apologies if this has been discussed before but is anyone else worried/concerned by the lack of new signings for next season for our team. Living in the W***n area I am sick of hearing
about the new signings made by them for next season, a lot of them potentially excellent signings which will definitely strengthen them further. I worry that with us bringing in a new coach for next season we will be leaving any possible player movements to him by which time I would imagine most quality players that are available will have committed themselves to other teams. The argument could always be sited by us given our league position that if its not broken don't try to fix it !! a risky policy if you ask me, we have been fantastic the last 2 seasons even though the holy grail still escapes us but I don't think we should rest on our laurels while our main competitors build for next season. I understand it is a salary capped sport and we cannot just go out and sign whoever we want but I do wonder how the hell W****n ,W*******N , L***S, etc can keep signing and rumored to be signing so many quality players that will not come cheap, do they have better accountants than us or are we paying our current squad over the odds ??

Maybe you should move to the St Helens area if W***N is so difficult for you to come to terms with saying and spelling. Do you burn your letters as they come through the door just to avoid seeing that wretched name?

I don't think he was actually offended, although I've seen others on here get upset over less.

Thanks Dave my question seems to have got lost with by bit of grammatical stupidity which was not meant to insult Wigan,Warrington,Leeds fans etc that will teach me to just stick to the question and leave the humour, sarcasm to other more experienced posters. And I apologize for my dodgy spelling even with auto correct ,I did go to Parr Cent not Cowley a long time ago.

To answer the OP I wouldn’t have minded us signing another prop perhaps but with only Swift and Douglas leaving, there’s not actually anyone that needs replacing really. Also given then fact we are so far ahead of the rest there’s no obvious weak areas that need strengthening either.

A fine line between contentment and complanacy Recruitment is never finished.
You are only one fluke event away from a chain of events that impacts greatly
    on a squad.
That's why you always need to hold back a contingency in the cap.

Massive turnover end of next (2020) season. Perhaps one of those
should have been released this season to phase turnover.

I think wire have done good business with Matty Ashton.
Will probably play mainly championship and /or reserves.

An unorthodox project prop would be good , but appreciate you can't just go to
    Tesco's for one of those.

    No pots though mate.

For me, we need a good scrum half, 2 props & a mongrel in the back row.

However, that is impossible over one close season.

Wouldn't mind a big outside back either & a 9. I think there's a fair bit to do over the next 2 to 3 off seasons

Thanks Ralph, Gerry these are my concerns also, for me it is not a case of being dissatisfied with the current squad but of evolving and looking ahead which I believe successful teams need to do

It's reckless to go into a new season with absolutely no new faces. It rarely works and things just need freshening up to keep players on their toes.

I'd say we need one big player for next season. Big in the physical sense or big in terms of their quality.

I've been told that Richardson will be leaving with Swift and Douglas and that 'one of the forwards' is leaving this season and a replacement has already been lined up (Taia? Thommo to NRL? Peyroux going home?). One of those pub conversations from a decent enough source, but without any names mentioned it's hard to give it any credence.

I wouldn’t mind getting Brock Lamb. Is it time to let Richardson go? I’m not sure he has progressed very much.

Maybe you should mind your own business and throw some money in the rent fund,

We need either a stand off or a scrum half with a short & long kicking game. Neither Lomax or Fages has one.

I think Taia will be struggling after the first few game of next year.

So do I, half a season at most. I’m not knocking him but he looks like his body is giving up on him.

It’s season 2021 that’s the problem we probably need half a pack, not a lot coming from the u/19’s. If Richardson goes to Salford we probably need a half back next year. or maybe start playing Welsby at 6 to cover.

Given we are 16 points clear I'm sure the current squad is strong enough to go around again next year.
