Default Player signings for next season

My apologies if this has been discussed before but is anyone else worried/concerned by the lack of new signings for next season for our team. Living in the W***n area I am sick of hearing
about the new signings made by them for next season, a lot of them potentially excellent signings which will definitely strengthen them further. I worry that with us bringing in a new coach for next season we will be leaving any possible player movements to him by which time I would imagine most quality players that are available will have committed themselves to other teams. The argument could always be sited by us given our league position that if its not broken don't try to fix it !! a risky policy if you ask me, we have been fantastic the last 2 seasons even though the holy grail still escapes us but I don't think we should rest on our laurels while our main competitors build for next season. I understand it is a salary capped sport and we cannot just go out and sign whoever we want but I do wonder how the hell W****n ,W*******N , L***S, etc can keep signing and rumored to be signing so many quality players that will not come cheap, do they have better accountants than us or are we paying our current squad over the odds ??

Maybe you should move to the St Helens area if W***N is so difficult for you to come to terms with saying and spelling. Do you burn your letters as they come through the door just to avoid seeing that wretched name?

I don't think he was actually offended, although I've seen others on here get upset over less.

Thanks Dave my question seems to have got lost with by bit of grammatical stupidity which was not meant to insult Wigan,Warrington,Leeds fans etc that will teach me to just stick to the question and leave the humour, sarcasm to other more experienced posters. And I apologize for my dodgy spelling even with auto correct ,I did go to Parr Cent not Cowley a long time ago.

To answer the OP I wouldn’t have minded us signing another prop perhaps but with only Swift and Douglas leaving, there’s not actually anyone that needs replacing really. Also given then fact we are so far ahead of the rest there’s no obvious weak areas that need strengthening either.

Maybe you should mind your own business and throw some money in the rent fund,

We need either a stand off or a scrum half with a short & long kicking game. Neither Lomax or Fages has one.

I think Taia will be struggling after the first few game of next year.

So do I, half a season at most. I’m not knocking him but he looks like his body is giving up on him.

Given we are 16 points clear I'm sure the current squad is strong enough to go around again next year.

Looks like we should be in the market for a back up scrum half for next year....
I was on my way to a wedding yesterday over the Pennines and stopped for a coffee at hartshead moor and saw Darryl Powell and Danny Richardson in conversation over a coffee.
It may not come to anything but there must be interest from cas and I fully expected DR to be looking elsewhere for first team rugby. One to keep an eye on!

I will just pass on what I put before even tho Luke Gale keeps saying he's going nowhere
Gale to Leeds for 150 grand Richardson to Cas for 60 grand soon find out if the rumours are correct or not I suppose

I get the impression the Gale to Leeds deal is dependent on Cas getting a replacement in.

If I were Leeds though, and those figures are accurate, I think I'd be looking at Richardson. Younger, less fee, presumably lower contract and less injury prone.

Unless Saints have told Richardson to look for another club I'd be surprised at him wanting to leave yet. It maybe better to see how things go under a new coach

Fages is signed up for two years.
Lewis Dodd coming up on the rails.

Was a protest vote against Matty Smith,
rather than a young gun grabbing a shirt.

Nothing against him just think he was
    overpromoted and a bit overhyped.

    I can see him going.

Yes I just heard he was who Cas were trying to get so they would let Gale go to Leeds I've always liked Richardson but I've read on here when I've been on a lot of people not that impressed with him overall

I think castleford would be good for him, you would see a better version of DR at Cas

I think he may benefit from playing in a team with a little less expectation. I think he has struggled a bit to stamp his authority on our side.
We could live to regret it as I think Powell has a track record for improving players. Luke Gale was a bang average scrum half when he went to CAS.

Agreed if it was a hull kr or a Wakefield but I thing cas have got enough about them to be in and amongst the big boys. Get into the play offs and you're in with a shout.

Worst case for me would be DR going to CAS, him fulfilling his potential there and then the goons signing him in his mid twenties and him sticking it to us!

I doubt he'll go to Cas when they have Trueman.

I think it is more likely to be Salford if he goes, if he or his adviser is realistic regard his worth is another thing. I get what the poster is saying regarding players coming back to bite us but who really has? Lee Briers took a step down to Wire and yes to the end of his time he finally picked up a couple of medals but did he bite us? NO Goulding left under a cloud in the end but I am glad we kept him. I cannot think of one player who has really done us "except" perhaps Gary Connolly and blame the club for that one.
