Disgusted. Embarrassed. Ashamed. This isn’t St Helens. It’s not us. I’m shocked by what he’s said in this past week and to then send that to print is ridiculous.

You think he’s right to suggest a death threat is “a pathetic spat”?

I think it's about time someone questioned Hicks appointment. He should never been put in that position.

Also a moron saying stuff on Twitter is exactly that.

He’s gone 99% of the way to saying that Hicks is bent. This is wrong. Incompetent, yes, bent, no, he’s not that clever.

The only thing bent was our performance.

He doesn’t say that at all. It’s more nuanced than that. If the ref holds a love-in with one of the clubs competing in a major final about an incident that happened four months ago it does look completely unprofessional. Hicks isn’t bent but he can’t help being subconsciously manipulated to favour Warrington as a result of his new friendship

Its not like its a new issue, its been bad for years, after last week he has every right to highlight it. Can you say after Childs performance tonight that there is not an issue and that it shouldnt be highlighted, they are killing the game and the RFL is too inept to improve the situation. Facts are people are tuning out on Sky and attendances are not that high, the quality of players are there but the officiating ruins the product.

Have a day off. We’ve had people on here bleating all week that we’re too nice as a club.

Good to see the chairman fighting our corner and calling out the idiot that was in the middle last week and the shambolic decision to allow him to take charge after the PR exercise he did with Warrington.

Well said Eamonn, we’ve had a few ridiculous calls against us in knock out games in the last few years it’s about time we said something.

Good on him. He’s put millions of his own money into the game, I think he’s entitled to have his say

The money aside, he is chairman of a club and is entitled to an opinion. If no chairman stood up, were would the game be if it was all left to the authorities?

Can't moan at him for saying what the fans are thinking. Got to back him there.

I hope we keep calling them out each week, culminating with the chairman issuing a death threat in the final program. Hopefully meeting with them as a PR stunt the week before Old Trafford.

    That would be great thanks

It's embarrassing - he comes across as an arrogant, petulant, self-righteous twerp. If we/he had any dignity we'd have dealt with internally, put a gracious face on for the rest of the world, and redoubled our efforts/energies into winning the GF.

He looks silly. Let it go.

He’s clearly furious and rightly so, if he wants to put his thoughts in the programme then he’s entitled to. He was spot on about it being a publicity stunt as well.

Disagree, i reckon things have been done in house and words have been had behind the scenes with the rfl, there is only so much people can take before you break, i think that is the case here, its an issue that has been raise for years and nothing has been done. Can you say that Hicks should have been referring last week, after the death threat made against him by a Warrington fan he was compromised by the situation, either he flaked like he did or he gave them nothing, he should not have had the game.

Carney said Eamonn was putting more pressure on referees.Sky have a bloke commenting on their decisions every match.
