I don’t think any of our players were in a position to claim a try. It was too quick for everyone except Hicks who saw exactly what happened and didn’t need any assistance. In any case there was no real opportunity to complain as the game was carrying on at a rapid pace. If someone had protested and not got back into position for the tap and they’d gone 80m they’d be hung out to dry and rightly so. Anyway, its just going round in circles this so I’m out now!

I don’t think you have to claim a try in rugby league. Should we ask them to shout ‘Owzat’? The process exists and considering 10,000 people cheered for a try it may have been a clue that something had happened.

I am surprised no reference has been made to the in goal official. Did he have any input into the "crime scene decision". Come to think I can't recall seeing him in the replays that followed.

Ryan Atkins would've been leading try scorer for many seasons if you could "claim" a try!

I doubt whether you would see him in televised matches!

There is only a goal line official in Super League and not in Rugby Challenge Cup matches

Hicks was closest to it apart from Knowles and Ratchford, and the perfect eye-witness
Which makes him even more incompetent if he thought it wasn’t a try.

Looks like he still in hiding in London, not venturing North yet, got the London V Leeds game on Sunday, making sure he isn't on Television. I can't wait for the reception when he next "referees " at St Helens. I'm sure there must be some way we can show how welcome he is and how we appreciated his version of being a neutral official in a lawful way obviously

Or didn’t actually give a fig either way? I doubt there was more than 45k in there total with very few Warrington fans present

We see refs and linesmen in perfect positions every game and yet they still send things to the video ref.

Warrington fans didn’t cheer obviously. There was doubt in the Saints fans. I thought it was a try. Guy in front of me thought it wasn’t a try live. They brought in a thing most now refer to as ‘the screen’ a few years ago where doubt exists like this. You don’t always see it though as the referee tends to pick and choose when it’s used so we can develop more inconsistencies in the game.

Need to get on his back next time he refs us don’t let him forget about it, might think twice next time before being so stupid in a big game.

Might be counterproductive to do that though. We don't want another Ian Smith

Aye, it's a pity our ground is about as intimidating as a cup of tea. He probably wouldn't even hear it.

I suppose! I’m still bitter it would just make me feel a bit better if he got pelters!! He’d probably want to meet everyone after and have a cosy chat though! (That’s a joke Robert incase you’re reading.. don’t report me!)

When he obviously can't see, why should he hear?
