Well put Sir - don’t know what all the fuss about Austin is - Jonny has proved himself to be a far greater asset in that position.

Don't downplay Knowles' contribution to keeping Austin quiet.

I think Knowles is the one that has shut down the Austin attack. Every time Austin has had the ball he has been wearing No. 15.

Think Zeb Taia did a good job on him in the first game. Austin plays the majority of his game down the right edge and Taia did a good job on him down our left.

I agree - whilst Jonny is currently playing in a much better all round team, despite that I just think he is a better all round player than Austin anyway.

Austin has been anonymous in the two games he’s played against us but along with Clark he’s still Warringtons most dangerous player and gives them a chance because without him I’m struggling to see where their points are coming from. However, looking at his Instagram I think it’s highly unlikely he’s going to be playing. Some quote about not rushing anything and then he says it wasn’t his time and that he’s looking forward to cheering the boys on.

Seen that and, if he's playing along with Wire's kidology and their "let's draw attention to ourselves" attitude, and is playing, then it's in pretty poor taste and taking things too far. Effectively it's taking the mick out of the game.

I was told earlier today that Austin hasn't even travelled with the team.

I’m no physio, but having a protective boot removed 3 days before having to travel with the squad is ludicrous to even consider

I hope he plays. Wembley always finds out players who are not 100%. I dont care how we win this just win it. The smug gloating from Wire fans would be unbearable.

It’s a grade 2 ligament tear he’s still 2/3 weeks away from playing, he defo won’t play Saturday, he’ll be back for the play offs I believe . The injury is a lot worse than first feared.

If Austin doesn’t play I would imagine Ratchford will switch to stand off and Mamo will play FB. I don’t see them losing much with Austin not playing. Ratchford has played plenty of games st half back.

Rumour on the other site they are going with a forward in the halves, possibly Livett

That’s true about Ratchford, who I think is a very dangerous player.

However, since the semi finals Mamo seems to have dropped pretty much every kick that’s come his way. If I were a Warrington fan I’d be very anxious about him playing full back.

I'd be delighted to see Mamo at fullback. It could be Nathan Graham mk2

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Warrington name an extra forward such as Currie or Livett at 6.

There are still plenty of bookmakers offering odds on Blake Austin winning the Lance Todd tomorrow. Whether it’s laziness and a lack of knowledge or they’re just as suspicious as we are, who knows?
