This isn't about scrapping something (although I was tempted to say Robert Hicks) it's about adding something. Why not check every score via the video ref in finals?

If we actually have a tender process for the new post-2021 TV deal (and not another submission to Sky's take it or leave it tactics) we should state that the winning bid wins the rights to screen games, not take over the structure and timing of the entire competition.

I once started a thread about the whole name thing. RU keeps trade marking things we started and if we’re not careful they’ll nab “Rugby” if they haven’t already done so. Super League is past its sell by date and is being used for loads of women’s sports leagues. Yesterday Tottenham v Arsenal’s women’s teams drew a record crowd (ignoring far bigger crowds in the 1920s) of over 30,000 for a Superleague game. The name will soon become synonymous with women’s soccer and cause great confusion if it continues to be used for Rugby League.

bring back the shoulder charge. And penalise heavily the shoulder to head (big fines would stop that)

Thats the only big rule change I have a problem with over the years.
I know it will never happen, but I think its a huge shame

Do you know if the tender has gone out yet and if any company have shown interest?

This would almost inevitably mean a drop in income

Sky have the right to move fixtures because they have paid for that right. An inflexible fixture list would be worth less to them and they wouldn’t offer as much for it.

I think it depends how you manage it. Tv will not judge their bids based on one or two games being inflexible.

I think there is a case for saying no playoff games on a Thursday night. I doubt that would impact any overall offer by more than a few £100.
