100% yes. If not he’ll be remembered as the bloke whose teams bottled the big games, as harsh as that may sound.

Probably. Holbrook really benefits from coming in after Cunningham, and I think will be remembered for a long time for being the coach that reforged the link between club and supporter that had been really damaged under KC. So, trophy or not he'll always have a place in our history for that.

However, I think that a 2 year spell is hard for anyone to create a genuine 'legacy' as well. We could win the double this season and at the end of the day JH will have one double to his name. Not 4 titles in 8 years, that kind of thing. Just one season were we won the lot. Does that make a legacy, I'm not sure.

More importantly, we need a trophy after being the most consistent team in the country for 2 years. To end up not winning either major trophy from here would be terrible for the whole clubs psyche really.

Most definitely, last season Holbrook himself said despite winning the LLS overall he thought it was a failure. But has 2 very good chances on the horizon so I think he would be relieved and happy to win one of the major trophies and the fans would be happy with that.

For me he has brought the entertaining mojo back to the Saints, most of the games have been pretty good with some excellent creative trys, making us fit and mobile in the pack has been a great asset for us this season

Obviously, or he’ll go down as a failure. Really we should win all 3, the LLS is as good as done and given how dominant we’ve been for two years I think he should leave with at least 1 of everything won in his time here.

What they said. This year would be a huge disappointment if we didn't win anything

Yes, i would say so too. One of CC or SL would needed in legacy terms - both would make for a memorable and vintage season!

Whatever happens, Holbrook will be leaving the club and squad in a much better place and position compared to when he arrived.

Whilst there is no doubting his technical ability as a coach, if we do not win a trophy (or even both trophies) this year then there are questions over his ability to motivate and instill mental toughness in his players. You can be the best coach in the world technically, but what is the point if you cannot instill mental toughness in your players? We have lost 3 out 4 semi finals under him. However, I suppose there is an argument that we as a club has had this tag for years prior to his involvement, so you will never really know how much responsibility you can put on him for this.

I think it will be a huge failure, but I believe we will do better this year...

From a fan's point of view tes but it won't make much difference to his new career.

If Gold Coast have a bad season next year he could be under pressure and a cup over here wont help one way or another

For me no. Though I do think he will win at least one. When you look where were when he took over, rugby wise, and the rift between cub and fans, then I don'see how you can consider him a failure

Definitely IMO. Last year still hurts for me because it fell perfectly for us, bar Walmsley we had all our key players fit for the majority of the season, we had plenty of time to fix things up before the Warrington game but we just couldn’t get it right when it counted.

Even this year, a cup run of Huddersfield away, Wakefield at home and Halifax in a semi final is fairly generous. We’ve got to peak for 3 games this year essentially.

    Yes.

We have a lot of youth coming through this team thanks to Holbrook. If we can get them winning finals experience it will do us good in the future to add to that trophy tally in ghe future.

That will be his legacy I believe.

It would be great if he did win something but ,for me,he has given us 'the Saints' back and I love the guy for that. I remember seriously considering jacking in my season ticket a couple of years ago.

Completely turned the mentality of the club round and made us into a top team again. That, more than anything, got him an NRL gig. In any sport though if you've been clearly the best team for 2 years in a row and don't come away with any of the major trophies it is deemed a failure. As nice as it would be to win the challenge cup we have to win the grand final this year for the season to be deemed a success.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
