It seems some people don't agree with his claim

Barrett always came across as an ignorant bell end in his post match interviews. Half the time he literally shrugged his shoulders and said nothing in response to questions from the press.

Yes this is pretty much on the mark - Sea Eagles have transformed since his departure as well as player discipline and morale

Wasn't having a go mate, just didn't think he'd be the right guy and the difference Hasler has made this year is massive.

Ok. Let me say I’m happy to be put right here, but I’m getting a little worried. In the last few days I have started to hear the name of Shaun Wane creeping in to the running for Saints job.

    Just... no

His methods worked for the piescum and I dare say he'd be alright for England/GB. But I don't want us to go back to that sort of sh*te rugby.

As well as that his approach was heavily based on his passion for Wigan, I’m not sure he’d be as effective elsewhere let alone Saints!

So he's in Oz? That's why Saints' people are out there then!

To add, if he was appointed our coach, I'd take a break from attending. For as long as he was in the role.

I don't think it would happen for a second, but after all the work the club and Holbrook have put into getting fans back onside after the car crash that was the Cunningham tenure (which itself came after a succession of so-so coaches), it'd be shooting ourselves in the foot.

Anyone who thinks Wane is anywhere in the mix must be mad.

Well judging by the other thread, the way people are talking about Smith, he’d be welcomed as a great assets to the team. Oh how short people’s memories are.

Shaun Edwards has agreed to be our new coach. Well he shook hands on it.

I don’t think Wane will be our coach either, but was shocked to see him appear on several twitter feeds as ‘one in the running’.

I'm almost sure we showed interests in him as a player just before or after we released Josh Perry.

'Tellins is a bit further trek than Melbourne.

Still, if he thinks a 2-year stint here would take him on the Holbrook path to an NRL head coach role, then perhaps he'll tough it out.
