No. I wouldn't want Brown back despite a GF.

Me neither. Much prefer the entertainment we see nowadays.

Every fan of any team in the land are wishing they played like us.....

Most other teams are still playing the power game instead of having athletic mobility, we adapted the substituting rule very well, our line speed has been consistently high this year whilst other clubs can only do it in short periods.
I'm not sure it's completely down to fitness and conditioning though, there's also a bit of luck involved. Just to take Wigan for example, Tom Davies double dislocation and break of his ankle, Manfredi ACL, Farrell and O'Loughlin pec injuries, Tautai and Hamlin, stupidity.

Saints wouldn’t offer Brown the coaching job would they. I think that would be a dreadful idea. Just imagine if they did and his assistant coach would be former saints supremo Kieron Cunningham.

Two of a kind. Brown always came across as a bit aloof and arrogant, at least he didn't belittle the fans.

I would rather Watson or Marshall got the job than Brown.

i agree there is luck involved all sides pick up injuries cas have had gale and foster out all season shenton moors half the season ellis played his first game on sunday eden hasnt played much either, i just think the conditioning plays such a big part these days and saints seem to be a step ahead of most teams with that

Brown won a Grand Final without half backs. We lost Wilkin, Lomax and Walsh (who was walking MOS before his injury) to season ending injuries. He made the best out of bad situations. We won that Grand Final with LMS at centre, Wellens and Flanagan as HB’s and Jordan Turner at 13.

I’m not saying I’d have him back because I don’t think at this moment in time he is what we need but he wasn’t as dreadful as some people make out. We won a LLS and Grand Final under him, which hadn’t happened for us since 2006.

Despite the hard work of the players for 80 minutes that GF came down to one second of inspiration and understanding between Roby, Wellens and Tommy M. We were right at the front when Wellens gave a little nod to Roby and to TM. Roby gave him the ball and Tommy headed for the post. The rest is history. Brown may have won a GF but for me that win came on the back of " never give up" from all the players, and that one moment between those 3.

I can pick out a few other moments from that day. The first tackle of the match from Soliola/Masoe. The Makinson tackle on Farrell. There were a few critical moments in that game. I remember thinking “oh what’s he doing” when Wellens put that kick in as well!

A good coach, who was forced through injuries to chop and change dramatically, but still won the LLS and GF.

But it wasn't a great brand of rugby in the main, too much percentage stuff. When Cunningham took over, I remember thinking in his first few games "I like this new, more adventurous approach to play!"

Just a lot of hard work from players that much of the time seemed to be just covering the field, rather than a specific position. Happy days.

    Default New Coach for 2020

Not keen on the Brown idea myself. Despite us winning the title and the LLS under him I somehow never quite felt like we were that good when he was at the club. He did have terrible luck with injuries and players leaving, though, to be fair.

Him leaving Newcastle is bad for us though, as we’ll now be second choice for all the top candidates.
