Is this what they need? Their backs seem to lack ability more than their forwards, throw your money at key positions when in trouble

Trying to buy their way out of trouble at this stage of the season is against the spirit of the competition for me. Really hope that the Broncos send them down (even if it means all the other teams throwing their games to help )

I wouldn’t mind us giving them the 2 points in the next game. We could just say we were resting players for the following weeks semi final

I didn't realise it was allowed, in theory could they sack off half there team and get all good surplus short term NRL players with "dual passports" to survive. Hope they get beat by the Catalans today.

I think there's a window, so lots of activity before it closes

Didn't Hull KR bring in a few players at the end of the season 2-3 years ago when in a relegation battle?

You may get your wish. Lomax and Makinson certainly won't play on their pitch.

We will rest a load for that semi final. Expect a much changed team when we go down there on 21st July

    They did.

Heard that Wigan broke the salary cap in 2006 signing a prop to keep themselves up as well

Guess that puts the Hastings to Leeds move to bed.

    Can I just say that:

    In: Martin, Lui, Lunt
    Out: Lolehea, Parcell, Watkins

Doesn’t feel like Leeds have improved any? I know Lolehea has been a bit of a flop, but showed up well in his game against us earlier in the season - and it’s not like Lui is known for his consistency. Parcell and Watkins (even in poor form, second row Watkins) just seem categorically better than their replacements.

As funny as it would be to see leeds go down, I just think it would financially and commercially be detrimental to the game.

If it was for 1 season it probably would not be that big a deal, but how many teams of that size (regularly hitting 10k attendances) do we have?

    Leeds
    Wigan
    Hull FC
    Saints

    Will clubs like

    Cas
    Wire
    Hull KR
    Catalans

    Ever hit those heights

    How many

    Huddersfields
    Wakefields
    Salfords

    Can we afford

London too whilst great for location are going to have to grow to get to a medium sized club level.

Toronto would be a good addition, but I really want the sport to grow rather than shrink.

They haven't addressed their main problem, which is that they don't have a halfback who can manage a game. Lui is a good player but he isn't that type of halfback.

They will bring more than most though. But it's not about selling away tickets it's about being attractive to sponsors. 15k each week at Leeds is more attractive to sponsors than 2k at London or 3k at Salford or 5k at Wakefield.

Think Wigan signed a couple of aussies in the early 90's mid-season one year on top of all the stars they'd brought in from everywhere else. Cant recall who they were but it was during the time when they had internationals playing in the A' team. They were practically unbeatable as it was and i remember thinking how could it be allowed to happen.

I know this'll sound terribly parochial, but I don't care. The lolz about those jammy gets being relegated is too tempting.
