Take everything with a pinch of salt until an official announcement.
I love Holbrook and want him to stay. He’s changed the culture at the club on and off the field.
However he’s desperate to get back. He held talks with clubs at Christmas when he went back for a break and didn’t make Saints aware. He took this job because it’s a stepping stone to the NRL.
When he goes (whether it’s next year or the year after) we need to remember it’s a business transaction. The next coach will come in and the same cycle will happen again. Thankfully the club and the fans will always be there.

It's beginning to feel like he will be going, no foundation to this other than the sense that the time being taken doesn't sit right with someone who is staying. I could turn out to be wrong but if I had to bet I would probably gamble on him going.
I wouldn't be to down to see Marshal get the job for now, I safe pair of hands from my perspective although I understand this would be quite underwhelming for the majority of the fan base. Is a reserve Aussie coach really assumed far better than an experienced championship lead coach?
I wouldn’t rule any of those people out but what I think is crucial is that there is a proper selection process. Whoever gets the job should have to compete for it against the best proven coaches in the UK and the most promising up-and-comers in the NRL. No pre-cooked succession plans.
It does sound as though there is a stumbling bock somewhere on the OZ side though. I should imagine McManus has offered a couple of extension options, maybe the OZ offers are not cast iron Head Coach guarantees and his agent is struggling on that.
The problem is that if it goes on much longer it could effect his judgement on how we see out the rest of the season, we had some indecision from Holbrook last season we dont want that to surface as a negative.
Danny Ward?
It will be an assistant Aussie coach currently in the NRL.
Pro’s are that they are very hungry, have to prove themselves to land a head gig back in the NRL.
Cons are that they probably won’t stay beyond 2 years and then the search starts again.

He's definitely signed a 2 year with someone , my source wouldn't just wouldn't say who with either Saints or any other club , this from a very well known "person" cant say who because everybody knows him . Sorry about the negativitity BUT whatever some deal is done .

Dont think you're to far out with this Reacher obviously can I say well informed , but just add a letter "S" in there somewhere and , well you know the rest.

he's stretching things a bit but I guess we were mid-table when he took over, we could have dropped into bottom four and then mid 8s playoff.
If I recall the mid table that year was very close like this year, a couple of wins and you're near the top, a couple of defeats and you're at the bottom.
Cunningham on the way back?
