    Default Match day pubs

Hi all. I am a life long Saints fans from Cumbria and due to having to drive to and from most game I haven't really had the chance for pre and after match beers. I am taking my brother in law to his first every rugby match for the Saints vs Pies derby and was wondering if anyone has suggestions of where is good for a pint or 4? Thanks in advance.

The George on George Street is a good shout mate. It will be busy though with the pie eaters who go in there who get off the train. It's a good laugh though. It's about a 10 minute walk to the ground from there, maybe 15 if you've had a few

Try the gas club, cheap beer and you can get summat to eat. Pasty chips peas and gravy was my choice the last time I was there, put plenty pepper on the pasty to stop it escaping.

If you like your ale then no finer establishment in the whole country than The Cricketers.

I fully agree. Just didn't put that as it's a bit more of a trek over to the ground

I’m terrible with names, what’s the one Duggar Greenall had? The Talbot? That’s not bad if you fancy spending a little while getting lost in nostalgia looking at old Saints pictures.

There will be quite a few thirsty Leythers next Wednesday...our coach leaves at 5:30, so plenty time for 'supping a couple' of pints !
