Special mention to Lomax and Richardson providing plenty of variation in attack, too much fancy stuff though from our centres.

"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom." Danny Blanchflower.

Taia seems to be winning it comfortably.
Judging by his one vote, I assume that Ashworth's mum has voted.

A strange game for me, at the match I thought we won easily but I wasnt comfortable until the last 20 minutes as we seemed a bit careless at times. On re-watching the game as televised, however, I thought we were reasonably good but that may have been the influence of the commentary teams love-in with Saints. I did think that Naiqama summed up the strength of character of the team: he could easily have been put totally off his game and withdrawn into a shell following a series of mistakes including the missed tackle that allowed their first try, a misdirected pass to Makinson, being tracked down by Jones-Bishop and then dropping the ball as Saints tried to clear their line. Instead, he continued his efforts and showed his determination in outpacing BJB to score.
Holbrook described it as a stop start game with plenty of short rest spells with Wakey players stopping play for injury, because of that we didn't do any interchanges in the first half at all because of it. In the second half we didn't bother using Walmsley and Thompson again, we also had a head knock to Roby and an ankle injury to Richardson, Roby didn't go to half back for a couple of plays and Richardson was limping on the wing and was a sitting duck but Wakey didn't notice that and attacked on the other side.
I don't know what Percival was doing with his brain fart drop off in the first half there were a couple of other "exhibition type" plays which Holbrook was not happy with.
