    Default Yawnion 50-22 rule

It looks like the yawnion powers that be are looking at a “rugby league “ style 50-22 rule where the kicking side get the line out . Copying again !

The next logical step to "create space" is to rduce the number of players - to 13 perhaps?

Best thing they could bring in is a shot clock to limit the interminable stoppages every two minutes

I see Stuart Barnes is having a hissy fit about the suggestion. ‘ League gimmick is just a dumbing down’
Superiority complex from Ra Ra boys yet again!

He really does have a superiority complex and the type of face you'd love to give a smack. I've met him and he is an arrogant prick.

Many years ago Yawnion spent a lot of money on an investigation/survey to look at making it more attractive to watch, it actually came up with this suggestion among a few other's, i am led to believe some Hooray Henry's had heart attacks and a lot of Gin & Tonics were spilt.

In the recent Wales v Ireland game, there was one scrum that took three minutes. In the end the referee gave a penalty, why not do that in the first instance?

Funny you should say that as I know someone who has met him and said exactly the same.

He hates rugby league with a passion

Some people say we should go back to contested scrums. Not a chance for me,far to many things that can stop the game with contested scrums. Union scrums show this, how many times do they have to reset ? then after 3 or 4 goes a penalty is given.

Full on arrogant Union buffoon. I remember when England RU played at Huddersfield and at one point the commentator mentioned that Huddersfield Giants played RL there, he replied “I wonder how many fans they get here, not very many I expect”.

They spend forever setting a scrum and in the end the odds are 99.9% in favour of the team feeding it anyway. It seems to just be a contest to see who can not concede a penalty

The time I met him he was with Tony Swift whom I had met before when playing against Swansea. Swift was full of admiration for RL and said that Barnes was considered a pompous prick among his team mates. There were a few of them on a golfing holiday and Swift reckoned Barnes was just along as a hanger-on.
